What an absolute mess the UK is in. Labour is going to get completely hammered. Plus, it looks like Corbyn is aiming for de-selections of popular centre-left Labour MPs so they can't even benefit from incumbency. Yay, hard right Tory rule! Fuck.

So, so very scared for this election. Seems like May is spitting in the face of the electorate by not having a debate, and is probably going to win anyway. Fuck everything. I just really wish Corbyn was more media friendly, I think he'd be doing fantastically if they didn't convince the people he was a dangerous choice.

  8. Arguments about Hillary's slogans aside, wasn't her rebuttal to "MAGA" to say that "America is already great"?

I think that was said during a debate or something. I think that was bad to do.

  9. yup. "because America is good," whatever that means.

I think Michelle Obama said something like this.

  11. Clinton takes on Trump: 'America never stopped being great'

Less than an hour after her commanding win in South Carolina, Hillary Clinton took the stage and declared the presidential race is going national. And that meant going directly after Donald Trump.

"Despite what you hear, we don't need to make America great again. America has never stopped being great. But we do need to make America whole again. Instead of building walls, we need to be tearing down barriers," Clinton said.

    She did:

I feel like addressing that slogan in general was a no win situation no matter how you slice it and should probably have been avoided altogether.

"Vote Your Ossoff" is a pretty great slogan.

  14. If you had told me in 2015 you could run a campaign shitting on the country (let alone a Republican could do it) I woulda said it was impossible. I like that line, "America has never stopped being great. But we do need to make America whole again. Instead of building walls, we need to be tearing down barriers."

An optimistic message in the face of Trump's "everything sucks" seems logical. Going to be interesting how he spins it in 2020 given he owns his shitty country now.

God, I hate patriotism. It's so stupid. And "America already being great" manages to make patriotism more idiotic.

  16. "Make America Greater"

  18. Now that's a winning slogan.

  19. Patriotism has always been akin to school spirit as a kid ... everyone was really fucking excited all around me about something and I was like, "uhh... go Timberwolves I guess, why is everyone losing their minds?"

  20. Whatever happens, the next dem nominee should be sure to not run on a slogan that says nothing more than "Not Trump"

last night's daily show was absolutely garbage, but it does contain the single most american quote ever: "There's a scary possibility that this could be the starting point of WWIII. And possibly the end of the world! So my friends we only have so much time left...but enough time for an ad break."

I don't see how increasing democracy within the party is a bad thing. We need a younger, more diverse, and more dynamic Parliamentary Labour Party anyway.

  24. Kinda think a boring guy that says that would win to be honest.
