One wonders how he comes to such a simplistic conclusion when you look at the charts that ask racially coded questions. And yet, he did. Good times.

 

Agreed, although I think McKibben's statement is useful in pointing out how some leaders are branded as environmentally progressive, even though as in Trudeau's case, that is a dangerous trap to fall into. Obviously Trump is worse, and I don't think McKibben would claim otherwise, but the fall sense of climate change mitigation and environmental progressivism under Trudeau obscures the fact that his administration would undermine any positive environmental steps by promoting business-as-usual, or even increased, fossil fuel production. You can't have both, and one should resist Trudeau's furthering of fossil capitalism (especially in the Tar Sands) in the same way we protest the environmental assault under Pruitt and Trump
