The narrative around Biss dropping Rosa is loaded with a lot of bullshit. There is a very sensible case that BDS hurts the cause of Palestinian emancipation, among other things like becoming a platform for neo-nazis in europe. Biss has repeatedly stated advocacy for two states and justice for Palestinians. Rosa's position is very ambiguous, as he has voted against BDS in his office, but his position appears to have changed (coincidentally in tandem with DSA) since he was vetted by the campaign. The headlines swirling around are completely unfair and void of context. He is still by far the best candidate for Illinois. Those pivoting to Pawar should take a look at his voting record, his allegience to Rahm, and the terrible social positions of his running mate.

Be kind; everyone is on their own journey.

So good to read an article about Kap as a person and not a shitty political anomaly.

If anyone was curious, I've been researching and keeping track of senators that have expressed support for a single payer healthcare system. We talk about the big names supporting it but many of the lesser known senators do as well.
100% support it and would definitely vote yes:
    -Bernie Sanders
    -Elizabeth Warren
    -Jeff Merkley
    -Brian Schatz
    -Kirsten Gillibrand
    -Kamala Harris
    -Tammy Baldwin
    -Richard Blumenthal

Have expressed support, would probably vote yes:
    -Chris Murphy
    -Cory Booker
    -Sherrod Brown
    -Mazie Hirono
    -Richard Durbin
    -Ed Markey
    -Debbie Stabanow
    -Amy Klobuchar
    -Al Franken
    -Jack Reed
    -Patrick Leahy

There may be a few others I am missing and I am sure in the not too distant future many more will come out in support when they realize they will need to do it in order to get re-elected.

Idk where else to post this, but this is like the epitome of dumb startups
New Vancouver chat app aims to get people talking

basically this rich white boy thinks that betting that people want anonymous messages offline is a good business risk...i'm just astounded that no one stopped him for a second to think about the kind of harassment this app invites. i mean this is the age of twitter, does he really not realize that this isn't going to "facilitate unlikely conversations" so much as facilitating sexual harassment?? the best part is the header on the startup's twitter account is of three white women laughing together while presumably using the app, as if this would just be a fun experience for women and not threatening at all. oh, and the marketing campaign is going to target fraternities. i can't wait till this startup crashes and burns

This shit is terrifying. Got home today from work and got an email telling me that schools were shut down in all Florida counties Friday - Monday at least. The only silver lining is a couple of days off from work. I live in the panhandle right outside of the cone in Panama City. I also live next to an Air Force base and have been hearing the planes taking off to get them to other bases. It's nuts. No water at any stores. It's chaos

Stay safe - my parents decided to ride it out in Venice and I am not liking that decision now with everything trending further west lately.
We're supposed to be closing on a house in Fort Myers two weeks from today - but we'll see what's left.
