That seems to say more about the degree to which they're sculpting the narrative more than anything else to cater to the right. But, okay.

  2. My argument is that it says more about the communication/dissemination structure put in place by the right that the left has zero counter to at the moment. Which, goes back to my original point, about a lack of effective coms strategy in moments like this. An absence of facts allows the right to plant even a seed of doubt. And the video goes all over Facebook.

Scrolling through what's the most popular stuff... should scare everyone.

I was talking about the "average joe" who is mostly apolitical until election year, and floats between the left-center and right-center. That person seeing that video without context, and only knows of an "alt-left" vs "alt-right" narrative, could easily come to that conclusion, but they could also change their mind in 3 years as well.

  4. Them coming to that conclusion is not because they were "always headed down that path" it's because they've seen that video without context ... which is the crux of the entire problem I'm describing ... and literally the voters that will swing the next election. Ignoring it as "always headed down that path" is silly as a reason not to try and combat it and add the context. Those voters make up a majority of the voting electorate and losing them will cost any leftist candidate from the center left to the far left an election in quite a few states.

Already responded to that on the last page. It's a reductive ahistorical argument that misses how incredible the messaging was by some of the worlds most famous activists and how they were able to use that to change public perception and change the course of history. The change from those results to where they are now is exactly why I think there's an unnoticed issue right now that's not up to the challenge. I'm not saying what tactics to use to fight for liberation, I'm saying study the best and see why they succeeded in a shift and policy goals. The right has a better information dissemination apparatus. That's a problem. It's been beaten before, let's look at how.

There's a lot of reasons public opinion changed, one of which was the tactic of non-violence which required being beaten upon by state violence and not responding. There was also the fact that it was something with which the Soviet Union could point to the hypocrisies of the United States. In recent memory at the time, there was a holocaust based on racist ideologies. There was also the fact that there was a militant component to it, which involved violence and which effectively said that, if you are going to perpetrate violence against us, black people, we will respond in kind. I'm guessing you're not advocating a holocaust or being beaten violently as a tactic for progress.

I've been wanting a change in employment.

I can probably be a dockworker.

Also I'd love to move to the Bay Area.

  13. lol. I'm done responding when you go to the let me throw out three things and ask the equivalent of "do you still beat your wife." If you don't think there's an issue, that's fine. I think there's an obvious one that's been essential to any movement of success and that this missing characteristic will hinder critical mass I think is needed for a change.

  18. Marc Alexander Thiessen (1967) is an American author, columnist and political commentator. He served as a speechwriter for United States President George W. Bush (2004–2009) and Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld (2001–2004).
In the book he argued that the enhanced interrogation techniques used by the CIA, which the Obama administration has characterized as torture,[10] are not torture by any reasonable legal or moral standard and "were not only effective, but lawful and morally just".[11] The book was endorsed by the former Vice President Dick Cheney, former Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld, and former Attorney General Michael Mukasey.

    Real piece of work.

It also could potentially provide Mueller with additional leverage to get Manafort to cooperate in the larger investigation into Trump’s campaign, as Trump does not have pardon power over state crimes.
