The Russia story is a dead end as long as the GOP controls the house - and all indicators right now have them holding onto it.

Mueller will release his findings (if he isn't fired first) and the Republicans will say how discouraged and disappointed they are but you know they aren't doing anything in response.
Meanwhile, Fox News will tell people how this was a liberal witch hunt and shouldn't be trusted.

Trumps people keep saying Russia is a nothing burger because they know congress isn't going to do a thing and they have Fox to provide the necessary confusion and doubt.

 

We're about a year out from the midterms, I think this story should remain in focus as much as possible between now and then
