They'll often ask for a zip code to enter into their caller database. Just look one up for whatever the major city in the state is and use that. The important thing is to flood their lines with demands that the Senator vote against confirmation.

  5. Talking about neoliberalism in class. Which is weird because I thought it was a made up boogeyman leftists used to shit on democrats? Idk

It comes off to me as "we need to channel it according to our ideological coordinates" more than anything else. And however terrible the tea party is ideologically, they have won, so I'm not sure what should be jettisoned. Maybe it cannot work from the liberal-left, we do not know. I am of the opinion that, at the very least, hijacking the party like they did could provide a viable opposition that manages to stop a few of the terrible things trump and company would like to do. Again, that's my perspective from the outside looking in.

  7. Sounds to me like you are agreeing with Schiff almost 90% of the way. He basically said exactly that but is referring to things you can't think of that should be jettisoned. I can think of a lot (and I think you can too) that shouldn't come from the Tea Party.

Question: Would single-payer be viable on a state basis if there were coalition of states that were determined to do work together to make it work? I'm thinking of the more progressive states.

I guess my meaning is, activists shouldn't mold themselves according to the party, the party should reflect the base and its activist. But yeah, ideologically, I don't want democrats to be like the tea party. In terms of being able to actually take over the party and transform it accordingly, I think it might be beneficial. I mean, I think they should grind governance to a halt. There doesn't seem to be a political price.

The word "Russia" appears exactly one time in that article, and it's in reference to Trump's desire to "recast relations with China and Russia." "Putin" does not appear at all. Jesus fucking Christ, NY Times.

My guess would be no just because I can't see how anyvstate would ever have the tax base and money to do it....at least not without banning out of state people from accessing it which would look really bad politically, IMO

I was just curious. I've been thinking about dual power and the idea of building left-wing proposals statewide that can be stitched together and provide an alternative to what the federal government can put on offer.
