Yeah, the problem with him is that you can't even go High Road on him because he, not unlike Trump, has no shame and just wants to talk. Getting a rise out of the person he's talking to is just extra, it's not necessarily the goal. The goal is to get his voice heard. And it sucks, too, because exposing him rhetorically is so damn easy.

What I mean is that even exposing him rhetorically in a calm and reasoned manner would be ineffective because, like @Spencer Control said, he's just going to ignore your point and say something outrageous like "lesbians need a good dicking" or whatever. His goal isn't to get into shouting matches, it's just to have a platform. The only solution is to deny him the platform. If shouting happens, it's a plus and he knows how to handle it. Just by having him on any show he's won, though

i mean, i legitimately think milo is a lost cause. i think the best thing to do is to argue vehemently against letting him speak at one's university, and keep spreading his old stuff online when he wasn't just an attention-seeking wanker. lauren penny wrote about this and since reading it i've gotten kind of hopeless with the idea of "fixing" him I’m With The Banned – Welcome to the Scream Room

exposing him rhetorically should be easy, but it assumes he and his fans give a shit about rhetoric. they don't. they just want to see him on stage, call him daddy, etc etc. see the penny article above

I agree. But any time he's given a platform, nobody has ever really called out his contradictions or direct harmful behaviors, either. That's why I'm asking, when he is given one, how should it be approached? Which I answered, but still.

I understand. I totally agree, once he has been given the platform, what you've described is the right way to treat him. It's why I agree with whoever said Larry Wilmore shouldn't back out of the show a couple pages back. Larry would fucking eviscerate him, but like for real and in the way you described.

I'm not assuming he and his fans give a shit about rhetoric. But you should be able to handle him in a manner that doesn't make you look like an emotional liberal with no valid arguments either, at the least. It's not that hard.

A better safety net comes to mind, but criminal justice reform and gender and race-specific programs that basically function like affirmative action, i.e., allocating resources according to those most profoundly hurt by the current state of affairs. Also, it is a lot of work, but I think doctors and medical health professionals need to be retrained. I recall a study that provided evidence that both tend to view the claims of black folks with skepticism and tend to think black people feel less pain, for example.

"Policies should go beyond increasing access to education and employment for blacks. In 2006, black men with a master’s degree earned US$27,000 lessthan white men with the same credentials. Blacks have 1/12 of the wealth of whites. A recent study showed that the racial earnings gap has returned to 1950 levels. As such, employment and educational initiatives should account for deeply rooted structural inequalities in the life of minorities. Policies that increase resources in schools in African-American communities will improve the quality of education for African-American children.

It is the time to eliminate societal barriers. Some other examples of structural barriers include job segregation, lending policies, labor market preferences and practices, unequal pay, differential access to health care, stop-and-frisk, discriminatory policing and mass incarceration."

Why is it so hard to close the racial health gap in the US?

again, it's not a question of "how we look." it's a question of "how can milo spin that." there's no right way to combat him in person. the best thing to do is not play and highlight his absurd, unscientific, and nonsensical ideas from sidelines.

"How we look" can play into "how can milo spin that" though. That's why you just gotta be direct without being reactionary.

So what happens if republicans eventually are all in on an investigation and Sessions stops it? I know they can go the independent route and burr said he'd be willing but wouldn't that create serious heat between the GOP and attorney racist?

I mean the ideal changes are pretty major structure changes to reduce poverty. One of the easier things would be to encourage a more diverse health care workforce.

I'd say the truest way to get back at Milo is to just make him cry on camera and spread it. Kinda hard to be a sassy asshole when the world sees you cry at words being spoken to you.

My town's middle school had a dodge ball tournament and one of the teams wore blackface and named their team the 3/5 compromise. There were a lot of things that school won't let you do, somehow this isn't one them.
