Because I prefer to make a statement against the broken two-party system that helped breed this mess with my vote as opposed to sinking into apathy and complacency.

I think people don't actually look at his policies, just that he's not Trump or Clinton, or they really hate the department of Education

It's especially shocking that a lot of Bernie people moved to him when he is almost nothing like Bernie.

Yeah, I don't get it. I don't mean to, and I'm sure you don't want to, get into this again though.

Yeah, I understand where you are coming from. I know it doesn't make sense to a lot of people, but it makes sense to me.

A fair follow up to this: how does your tax plan propose to fix them?

What I was more interested in with the story was the role the Internet played in driving paranoia and its effect on someone dealing with those issues. Made me seriously wonder about the benefits of the Internet vs. drawbacks

The amount of trivialization of mental health this election has been unreal.

I hope I wake up and it turns out I've been dreaming this whole time, that the entire election is just an effect of watching a political television show that is poorly written and incredibly melodramatic. When I wake up, I'll actually live in a world where politics isn't a masturbatory exercise that consists of tweets and associating yourself with brands.

From a purely outsider perspective, those who don't want Trump to win but won't vote Hilary should really have a harder think, surely? It doesn't feel like a protest vote against the system would be appropriate in the face of what's happening.

I still have a hard time taking in what's going on. It's just awful. And every day that passes makes me feel a little bit more uncertain about a Hilary win.

With his debate performance, the tax return story and the backlash against his attacks on women, it seems that Hillary's victory is secure. Also, not casting a vote for Hillary isn't a protest vote. It's just a vote for the person you believe in.

I'm still considering voting for Jake Gyllenhaal

In a typical election, sure. But if someone's main desire is that Trump doesn't win, then they really shouldn't be leaving it to everyone else to make sure that happens. A vote not for Hillary is as good as voting for Trump. The gravity of the situation demands that people vote for the outcome that they want.. In any other situation I would wholeheartedly agree with you.

With the tax stuff, I feel like he'll still get away with it. During the Brexit campaign, Jo Cox's murder felt like any chance of a Brexit win had dissipated, but obviously the Leave vote still ended up winning, despite it feeling like a mirror being held up to the Right at the time. I know there aren't huge comparisons between the two, but my point is more that Trump supporters will vote Trump, no matter what he does, to an extent. Yes, core Trump supporters aren't who will make the difference, but I'm not sure if Trump's attitude to and behaviour relating to tax will have much impact over those who plan to vote Trump.
