  1. Dom said Hillary:

What a supporter believes and what the candidate believes can be two different things.

Take arms, it'll all blow over Prestigious

She wouldn't explicitly endorse trump, but support the will of the American people and what not.

Obviously at an individual level it'd be infuriating to lose to the buffoon that is Trump.

If I could just forget it

I don't disagree with you. We should fight to limit those powers regardless of who wins.

Be kind; everyone is on their own journey.

Based on the reputation of Trump Supporters, having him win gives them even more entitlement to damage my property and/or follow me home and turn me into a news story. I'll pass on the anti trump bumper sticker...

maybe if you ignore the context of the rest of the post and the conversation:

"A friend of mine asked a similar question: if Trump is a fascist, if he really is evil and destructive and will fundamentally transform society in a horrible way, what does it mean that Clinton said she'd accept the outcome? She's cool with fascism?"

Sorry, I was speaking more about a political direction at the federal level considering a Trump victory.

I assume that things would get considerably worse since this would give the hate groups justification.

  7. No, that is definitely still about Hillary ...

  8. Accepting the democratic election of a fascist bc it's democratic is the most liberal thing I've ever heard

  9. Again: Clinton has never said Trump's a fascist.

  10. The point is "if you believe trump is a fascist and you are a Hillary supporter, why do you support a candidate that would accept the election of a candidate you view as a fascist"

Ok. I think it's pretty clearly about the way some/many of her supporters talk about Trump coupled with her answer on Monday, but whatever.

  12. Because I don't vote for a candidate based upon one, or even two, or even three "issues." I disagree with the people I vote for, very, very, very frequently.

The idea that voting for a candidate puts you in lockstep with their beliefs is nonsense.

So, for instance, here: Trump is a fascist. Clinton would accept the election outcome of a fascist winning. Would you accept that outcome as legitimate? If no, does it change the way you think about Clinton at all that she says she would accept it?

i don't think Clinton is dumb enough to say she won't accept the election results.

  15. I think there is a fairly clear distinction between supporting and voting for, especially in this thread given the conversation that have been had. Support certainly implies a much greater degree of agreeing with her positions. Especially considering how many in this thread especially are voting for her just to vote against trump

ok, so what would you do about it? is trump allowed to even attempt to execute his campaign promises? is it merely infuriating, or is it cause to refuse to accept it? at what point do you say "he may have been democratically elected but we have a moral duty to prevent XYZ from happening"

for the record i dont really give a shit about what clinton says she will or will not accept, i am really only interested in what those voting for her will do to stymie trump should he win

  18. I don't agree with Clinton on virtually an endless number of topics. I haven't voted thinking I need to agree with or accept what a candidate for office says "all the way" — uh, maybe ever. It's a math problem.

Okay, I think we are getting off track here. I am not asking whether you endorse all of Clinton's positions and statements, I am completely aware that you don't and understand your reasoning. I'm asking a very specific set of questions relating to the legitimacy of a Trump presidency and what efforts would be undertaken to undermine or end his regime.

Do you want us to personally take down Trump? Because then we have to make sure Pence gets take care of too

I tend to lurk in this thread and not participate, and I may regret doing so now, but I am a little perplexed at this argument.

Sec. Clinton said she would "accept the outcome" in a question that was very clearly directed at the fact that Trump has repeatedly said that if Sec. Clinton wins, it would only be due to some voting irregularities / fraud, etc. It wasn't as if she was saying that she would be totally fine with that outcome of a Trump presidency, only that she would accept that Donald Trump received more votes than her in a democratic election. That was literally the only thing she was "accepting" in that question.

If she had responded "No, Donald Trump cannot be President and if he wins a democratic election I will raise an army to take up arms against him!" THEN she would have been closer to "being ok with fascism" than what her actual response was.

  23. It would a horrible idea for anyone to answer that question in a public forum.

I'm not talking about what I want anyone to do, I'm asking if anyone has thought about this. There has been a lot of (justified) doomsaying about Trump's election. I am asking if we suffer through four years of his regime or if we take action against what ideas and policies that we all agree are going to entail death and abuse of human bodies.

Okay, whatever i guess. I thought maybe there would be some kind of incipient plan to recall or challenge the results in court or something.
