You need more than a "strong performance" from Clinton at the debate--you need Trump to implode up there. If he stays comparatively modulated, then yes, I think he may win the election.

On the other hand, it's typical for presidential elections to be decided by 2-4% differences. The fact that this particular race will be so close speaks to the weakness of the Democrats and Clinton, and woe the fuck to us if she does win and Republicans run a halfway sensible person in 2020 (not to mention what would likely be a bloodbath in 2018).

 

There's a guy in my hometown who's car is completely covered in racist sexist vulgar bumper stickers.

my hometown has a jeep thats covered in shit like this, we refer to it as "conservative jeep" and mock it even six years after we first saw it

Yeah, I don't see anything here in Baltimore, outside of bumper stickers on my students' family cars, but they are mostly county residents. Oddly enough, our faculty at school leans pretty heavily liberal, so there is a big disconnect between ourselves and the student populations we serve.

Living just over the line in PA, I see a lot more love for Trump. On the plus side, at least now I reside in a state where my vote can have an impact as opposed to CT and MD. First time I ever voted was in the primary this spring and this fall will be the first time on election day.

From the moment that Sanders was interrupted by those black women, it should have been understood that black people were going to be attacked by these types of white people, all of whom could not see why they might interject when his whole spiel was about economics, but never made the connection to race. I'm just waiting for the moment of Trump's election when it will be blamed on us, because we didn't feel the Bern. It's how they do. It is sort of like how they blamed us when California made same sex marriage illegal back in 2008.
