I still can't believe that Trump is actually happening, I've never been more embarrassed to be an American. Why is this being treated as legitimate in any way? How are we this stupid?

Remember how stupid and insane Republicans seemed in 2008? Remember how it felt almost silly how much more mature Obama supporters most often seemed?

Tell me this doesn't seem like a little slice of heaven nowadays

I think back to this clip any time an anti Hillary leftist claims that Trump is just another conservative Boogeyman. There is literally no Republican presidential candidate that can be compared to him since Reagan. Quite frankly, it's insulting to hear him be lumped in with guys like McCain and jeb bush. Yes those guys are horrible and support a racist capitalist regime, but they were never putting active American and internationalcommunities in danger to the extent Trump is.

"According to the Tax Justice Network, around £25bn is lost through tax avoidance schemes in the UK, while up to another £70bn is lost through tax evasion by large companies and rich individuals. Also, because of the lack of tax staff, another £26bn goes uncollected. This £120bn would be more than enough to avoid the huge cuts in government spending and extra taxes on the average households being implemented by the coalition government in its current ‘fiscal austerity’ programme where they claim that we are ‘all in together’.

Of course, tax breaks for corporations and the rich along with tax increases for the average household and the poor are not confined to the UK. The latest ‘compromise’ budget deal between US president Obama and the Republican-controlled Congress raises payroll taxes for single workers on less than $20,000 a year or married couples with less than $40,000 a year (that’s 51m American taxpayers). Two-thirds of the poorest 20% of income earners had a tax increase of 1.3% on their cash income while only 1.8% of the top 1% of income earners got an increase (and they are earning over $564,000 a year). The best-off 1000 Americans got a tax cut of $45,000 each!"

I recently got The Dana Carvey Show on DVD and for a show that only aired 6 episodes, looking back it sure was a timestamp of portraying American politics

I wonder if a situation like this has ever played out in the past. There would have to have been a couple of candidates that the general public either didn't agree with or didn't like, but the only choice was to choose the lesser of the two evils.

In this case, I'm not sure who is the "best".

    In Clinton news:

"Bill Clinton's staff used a decades-old federal government program, originally created to keep former presidents out of the poorhouse, to subsidize his family’s foundation and an associated business, and to support his wife’s private email server, a POLITICO investigation has found.

Taxpayer cash was used to buy IT equipment — including servers — housed at the Clinton Foundation, and also to supplement the pay and benefits of several aides now at the center of the email and cash-for-access scandals dogging Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign.

That's literally what the program is supposed to do ... it's kinda like getting a government pension, it's your money to spend, and has a big process. The 2008 version of this story by the same author is a lot clearer, just without the omg email server language (which is also false): Taxpayers fund Bill Clinton spending.

It's crazy how badly the media wants a scandal with the Clintons. This is how it should be done legally and ethically, and it gets painted as somehow bad. Just crazy.

Like, for example, all former Presidents take the money:
