I'd rather have eight years of Hillary than four of trump

    But would you rather have

4 of Trump and then 4+ of someone more progressive than Hillary

    or

4 of Hillary and then 4+ of Paul Ryan

Its true that Hillary isn't guaranteed to lose in 2020, and whoever we'd get to face Trump in 2020 wouldn't necessarily be better than Hillary and wouldn't necessarily win.

Was Kerry or Obama more left?

Thank you for this. I know that Hillary is really bad with her super-predator history and hot sauce in her bag pandering but leftists, please take a step back that while Hillary will still brutalize people of color and still empower imperialism (you know, just like what happened under Obama, our first black president), it will be so so so so much worse under a GOP candidate...especially one like Trump.

I vote for Hillary out of fucking fear for my life. At least she acknowledges that I'm allowed to exist. That's how bad American politics and the two-party system is. If your leftist/communist/socialist candidate can't even make the national ballot, please reconsider your voting strategy.

That trump gets more than zero votes shows what's wrong with a lot of Americans.

Kerry, particularly for the time. He was running against a war that was still popular. Obama didnt run on anything super left or controversial as a candidate, wouldnt even publicly support gay marriage.

Apparently Ted Cruz is going to announce Carly Fiorina as his running mate, which I didn't think you could do before you seal up the nomination. And if he's trying to gain support in the last several primaries, he could have picked a much more popular Republican.

I mean, I guess it's sorta an unofficial thing.

I have literally no idea if this is true nor any actual basis to think this, but my guess is that, technically, if you wanted to, you could run a campaign for VP; I guess it's treated as a courtesy that the DNC and RNC let the candidates themselves choose, and all delegates respect the choice.

As I typed this I remembered what my basis for assuming this is. House of Cards.

And it's not a totally ridiculous move; she can directly counter Trump's sexism

the earth is not a cold dead place.

It would seem to be a last ditch effort to appeal to those who want an "outsider" face on the ticket.

    (It isn't going to work)

I don't think Ted Cruz can do anything to undo the perception that he's a creepy lizard person

As shitty as Donald Trump is, I don't see how you can say you're not in the slightest entertained by the petty shit he makes fun of the other republicans for and just the way he says that stuff, ie. Jeb is a Mess. Also heard him making fun of the way Kasich eats pancakes the other day. It's shit like that that is why he appeals to some people.

I'm not one to criticize people's eating preferences considering I use a fork and knife on a pizza slice.

Picking on people like that is not appealing. And people who think that need to grow up.

the way he talked to Rubio and Bush was bullying which isn't cute or funny, but yeah he can be entertaining but also terrifying

You said it yourself, none of that is necessarily true. You can only count on one move ahead, or we'd be talking about Jeb Bush right now. Hillary is better Han trump, deal with what happens after that when it happens.

I am not sure this country can survive 4 years of Trump. We nearly collapsed with 8 of W Bush. The country will do fine with 4 or 8 of Hilllary but it will guarantee the left will break off from the Democratic party and it will allow for the right to take the next Presidential election whether in 2020 or 2024 due to political apathy. Still, it may be the push the country needs to ditch the bicameral system.

(for starters, in this situation I agree with you. unless there is a significant change, I will be voting for Clinton come November)

But as a whole, if the people keep voting for more of the same because its better than a few years of something further to the right, we'll never get something further left. In 2024 it'll just be "Better 4 years of Castro/O'Malley/whoever than 4 years of <insert republican here>"

But further right goes out and votes en mass versus far left who will stay home for a Hillary ticket this fall. If she loses its because of the rhetoric she was using against Bernie. I am not a Bernie or Bust. I will vote Hillary as a hate fuck against Cruz or most likely Trump, rather use my vote to prevent those disaster artists than throw it away, even if I don't support anything Hilly has been saying.

I agree with the first half of your post (and, personally, see no issue with people voting for 'non-issue related reasons' or 'lesser of two evils'), but I feel as though it's less of Hillary's rhetoric against Bernie, but moreso the rhetoric used by Bernie is what makes people Bernie or Bust. Even worse is how some of his rhetoric (all the outsider and corporate donor aspects) are, in a Hillary vs Trump election, beneficial to Trump.

  23. ForestOfAllusion

    Old Aesthetic Prestigious

I don't think much of the corporate donor aspects of Bernie's rhetoric will be beneficial to Trump because Trump IS Wall Street. He would be attacking himself. Hillary is rich, too. If it is one issue they both agree on is greed and unlimited money in politics. She claims to want to hone in Wall Street which is her biggest distortion of the truth, she doesn't want to go after Citizens United (especially in her first term), because it will allow her to win and win again.

Bernie's language is vitriolic, I agree, but no one else has his vigor.

lol picking fiorina as a running mate without having a chance of actually clinching the nom is fucking surreal
