this is such a mess. I love Bernie, but my god. It's just disappointing.

Then again her speech is also flat (so far).

 

Her speaking skills are nowhere near Obama's, that's for sure

 

Yep. I think the speech is well written, but her delivery is meh compared to the great speakers the party has at it's disposal.

 

She's doing better than I expected.

 

She's nervous. When she's on, she is incredible. It's a rough crowd. But sigh.

 

This speech is actually more than I expected from Hillary but my expectations were really, really low. I didn't expect her to touch on free tuition and Citizens United but I guess after this week she felt compelled to appeal to Bernie supporters?

 

"America is great, because America is good" - what?

 

It's cause she's shouting in a monotone. It's really weird. A little inflection and emotion would go a long way

 

Meh. That doesn't bother me. I just want that emotional moment.

 

She's been on those two for at least a few weeks now. I think she's been talking about Citizens United a lot longer, but her campaign released a college tuition plan I wanna say 3+ weeks back after her and bernie's campaigns apparently sat down and hashed it out.

 

Haha you're not going to get it even if she delivers a great line in that monotone

 

I think she actually did pretty well/it was a good speech

I mean a lot of it was horseshit but that was to be expected

 

I mean, just put this side by side against Trump's speech last week. She accomplished what she needed to do.

 

God I love Tim Kaine.

I will say, even as much as I know about HRC, the story about her mom was new to me.

I also hate the music choices right now too.

 

I'm aware, I didn't expect to see it in what's a very important speech at this point of her campaign. After appointing DSW to her campaign, I thought it was apparent she didn't care about Sanders supporters, and I didn't think she'd want to spend the time in such an important speech on what's more of a central focus for Sanders supporters than anyone else

 

Her speech was really good, her delivery was pretty par for course for her, she's not a great public speaker. Multiple moments I never thought I'd ever even see or hear in a presidential nomination acceptance speech.

What was she talking about with the cuban missile crisis? Isn't it now common knowledge that Kennedy was inept and nearly caused a disaster, and didn't prevent one? I couldn't tell if she was bashing him by calling him small minded or something or just completely doesn't understand what happened.

The "monotone" thing doesn't bother me because she's trying to keep her register low.

I think the problem is I like tough Hillary. I know it doesn't play well at convention.

 

It appears they've decided to skip the next couple of months and just celebrate the election victory now

 

And even if you're a 68 year old presidential nominee or former president, you still have to pick out a balloon or two to hit up in the air and hope the others around you join in the "keep it off the ground" game.
