is there a good analysis of how and why the TPP is bad? i support corporate regulation, but trade deals can be economy boosters, and every time i ask someone why the TPP is bad they just kinda say "because it is."

Clinton individually has a 100% clean energy plan, but either way it's not gonna happen as fast as we'd like.

Fracking ban would cause a spike in energy prices and a shift back to coal that would both hurt poor people and make carbon emissions worse. I'm not a fracking fan at all but i've become skeptical of an all out federal ban on it. Not quite sure what the solution is right now.

i'm writing a book, leave me alone.

Battlestar Galactica has ruined the word "fracking" for me. as soon as i read it, whatever the actual topic or discussion point was turns into Cylons.

Robert Reich has written a few good, albeit non-comprehensive, pieces on it that address some of the provisions that are poisonous beyond the mere undermining of value of labor and freeing the upward distribution of global capital, such as transnational legal representation and lost profit clauses.

Blue Lives Matter facebook group shared a photoshopped picture of the white house saying Obama lit the white house purple when Prince died, rainbow when gay marriage was upheld, and nothing for when cops died.

Problem is, the Prince thing never happened.

Are you sure the Prince thing never happened? I swear I saw a bunch of pictures. Not that it matters in regards to the blue lives matter issue but I think the White House did do something for Prince.

They signed the "Blue Alert" laws at the White House and there is consistent reference to cops as "heroes" throughout the country. They simply want unquestioned authority, which, given the conviction rate of cops that murder black people, already exists. Black Lives Matters represents a threat to that, as does the acknowledgement of the loss of black life as consequential, so they're trying to undermine that. They're disgusting.

They had Aretha Franklin (I think?) sing Purple Rain and some other things at the White House like a day or two later, but the White House lights were never changed for his death.

the main reason probably being that such a thing needs to be planned. They probably had the rainbow lights there days in advance of a decision they knew was coming and which 90% of people thought it'd go the way it went. Prince dying, these cops dying, not exactly planned out. And if they did it for Prince or for the Dallas cops, they'd be doing it nearly every day since we lose a cop or some famous person pretty much every day.

I'm not saying they should have changed the lights for the cops, I just thought they had done it for Prince. I stand corrected.

There are a lot of public figures that I wish would die because of how much better off the world would be.

I want D'Souza to die just because I think he's pathetic and he annoys me.

Stirring this much shit over Corbyn being uncharismatic, unelectable and so on, then picking Angela Eagle to oppose him. That's... something.

When you cross-reference Theresa May's speech with her voting record, it's as if she didn't mean anything she said

I just saw the GOP's platform. This is a party that has embraced a nihilistic attitude towards its future.
