And her main goal is to keep Trump out of the White House.

    Not here. Isn't happening. Supporter

Yes what a lofty goal. Its totally fine to endorse a warmonger and neoconservative, so long as Trump stays out of the white house.

Warren is famous for strongly and loudly opposing the very things Clinton has a record of supporting. Her endorsement is disappointing for this reason. But like most democrats its not surprising that at some point the talk falls short.

  7. This is why it's particularly disappointing to see her endorsement. She has been shouting against the very things that Hillary has been doing for a long time.

The party loyalty has been so absurd , Lindsey Graham said no one would care if Ted Cruz died and then endorsed him

The fact that incumbent politicians feel they have a right to a seat is the most bitterly funny, undemocratic thing I've heard all week

    Good article.

"Our chances for such a qualitative leap are more propitious than they have been in decades. The established political configuration in the United States hasn’t been this vulnerable since the 1970s. The Republican Party is undergoing a profound structural transformation, and Trump’s impending nomination has provoked defections and a potential mutiny. The Democratic Party is being pulled in two directions and may be headed for a contested convention. Record numbers of Americans are leaving both parties – 43% now identify as Independents, as opposed to 30% as Democrats and only 26% as Republican. Across the board tens of millions of Americans are rejecting “establishment politics,” turning to either Trump or Sanders.

We should also be encouraged by the fact that many of these newly radicalized Sanders supporters may already be prepared to break with the logic of the political system – according to one poll, for instance, one third of Sanders supporters say they won’t vote for Clinton in the general election. But without a viable alternative in the form of an organizational presence, we won’t be able to transform this inchoate #BernieOrBust sentiment into revolutionary politics. And if, against all odds, Sanders wins, it is very likely that only a unified, alternative organization embedded in today’s many ongoing struggles can prevent radicalized Sanders supporters from integrating into a fundamentally unreformable Democratic Party. In short, we need an organization to fuse together the millions of enthusiastic people who may otherwise disperse or find themselves subsumed and then disorganized by the state apparatuses."

My dad is pretty racist and even he hates trump. He thinks hes a neo nazi. My friends when asked who they would vote for, 1. Had no idea Hilary was close to clinching the nomination 2. Had no idea trump clinched the nomination 3. Hate Bernie because people on social media like him. When asked who they vote for between Hillary and trump they said trump cause "they're all liars and dont give a shit anyway".

Amazing stuff, dont steal this NYT!

It's almost as if Warren realizes that a candidate can be both deeply flawed and still significantly better than someone else... shocking I know

Sometimes I feel like you're trolling. You understand the point, but feel compelled to comment on something which has actually been addressed in the content of the thing you quoted. I think we get the argument, and I'm sure you partially understand that of others who disagree, so what is the point of invoking your lesser evil argument? I'm genuinely asking. Is it that you feel the need to repeat liberal talking points in order to convince yourself that what you're saying is true? I don't think you care in any significant way about the struggles of marginalized people, so this has to be part of your process of liberal self-help, wherein you get to feel better by supporting and voting for Hillary, but actually do nothing outside of that. If that is the case, maybe you should read Stormfront. It'll provide the same feeling of moral superiority and solidarity without actually requiring you to do the things that constitute the latter.

What is the point in posting people saying they are disappointed in Warren then? We've already had that argument too.

There is no discourse in saying "Warren is a bad progressive for endorsing Hillary" and then having everyone else go "here here! well said! Republicans might still want to ban abortion and roll back LGBT rights, but liberals are actually the worst!"
