When I was a kid they didn't sell beer and wine in guest stores around me, but I think that was a county or town law.

We still have that stupid law where you can't buy alcohol on Sundays. We're not allowed to have liquor stores in our county so you have to drive and get it outside of the county. We're called a dry county but there is beer/wine in convenience stores and at Walmart.

I recall running into that in Tennessee, weirded me out since you can find liquor pretty much in any store they would sell here in MO.

idk why anyone would yell at you. I see people do it all the time, including Oregonians if the attendant is taking forever. I've done it if there's huge lines and an attendant hasn't even acknowledged me lol. We can pump our own gas out on the rez which is the only reason I can do it. Whenever me and my bff go to Seattle I have to pump the gas cause she doesn't know how lol. But honestly the lines aren't usually that bad.

I'm so done. I'm so behind at work and can't ever get anything done and my boss is auditing us all and I'm so behind. I hope she hasn't gotten to my files yet cause they're a disaster. I'm irritated so I'm ordering take out tonight cause cooking sucks. But we have like no good restaurants here so... it's not that exciting. All my fave restaurants have declined in quality so bad lately.

Wait, so when you pull up to a pump, do you still get out and scan your card and just let the attendant pump? Or do you hand him your card? What if you have to go inside? Seems like a hassle.

You give the attendant your card. You can go inside while the gas pumps, unless it's like super busy and then you just park in the lot and go inside. Sometimes with cash you have to pay inside, but not always. The attendants and pumps will let you know. It's really not a hassle. You literally just sit in your car and do nothing while someone else pumps the gas and washes your windshield.

They wash your windshield too? Like most/all/ or some??

I'd say some. If they're busy they won't usually. It can depend on the station too. The Chevron here always does, Safeway often does. In my experience they don't want to leave the pump and just have to run right back over when it's done, or accidentally leave you waiting for long, so they wash it while it pumps. By the time they're done washing the gas is usually done too and you're free to go!

Haha wow it sounds pretty convenient actually. It's probably especially nice if its super cold out too.

I probably shouldn't be that interested in this, I need to get out of Ohio lol

Still a hassle compared to pulling right up to the pump, getting your gas and leaving, haha.

I've only had to wait in line a few times, when the station I'm at is really busy and I can't wait till later.

I do feel bad for the attendants when it's pouring rain, ngl.

I guess it's not inconvenient for me cause that's what I do! I pull right up to the pump, they usually run right out and ask what I want, they pump and sometimes wash the windows, it's done, they give me a receipt, I leave. Takes literally the same amount of time only I don't leave my car. The only time its ever been inconvenient is around holidays when the station is busy. Even then, I just do it myself and go on my merry way! Which I imagine that part is similar in places that pump their own.

Is tipping required or expected? It feels a bit like the idea of a restroom attendant. Someone who is doing something nobody needs but they still want you to pay for. Lol

  19. Kiana

    Goddamn, man child Prestigious

    Nope, not at all!

I'm not gonna front, there are moments when it's inconvenient but they aren't even close to the majority of the time ime so it's no big deal.

That loneliness is not a function of solitude.

The first time I visited New York and stopped at a gas station I saw a man walking toward my car and I audibly said "what the f*ck does this guy want" and then it freaked me out when he came right up to my door. I had no idea that people pumping your gas was a thing anywhere lol.

I was really close to just taking off to avoid a confrontation or physical altercation. I did notice that the guy looked very amicable for somebody who I assumed was about to rob me.

I'm pretty sure we used to have people pumping gas for us at the station when I was a kid, but it's always been self-service stations.

there's one gas station within twenty minutes of my house that pumps gas for you and it's like 10 cents cheaper than all other gas stations, which are self serve. I go there sometimes if I'm feeling lazy and wanna save $1.30
