My friends from NY told me they tipped the gas attendants here in Jersey and I was like "nah man."

 

Wait, there are serviced gas stations in New York? I'm in Buffalo and I've never seen this!

 

That makes sense, I often forget to push the button that opens my gas cover... thing

 

Swear to God I was writing a response to that dude before I realized I don't care to talk to him, hahaa.

 

I almost just didn't respond, because, like, if you're the kind of person that takes to Twitter or Facebook to call people names (lol at the dude calling me an idiot right now on Twitter) over a website then I'm 100% sure that you're probably not the person I want to know where the comments section is anyway.

 

My parents are in their 60's and don't know how. They can pretty much never leave the northeast.

 

My friends and I have been trying to find a time where we all can hike Arkaquah Trail: Brasstown Bald to Track Rock Gap. I think it might be happening this year. 2 of my friends and I have a hard time with altitude sickness but this will be totally worth it. Who knows? I might not even have it.

 

I got yelled at for pumping my gas in Oregon. I had no idea that was a thing until I was ten gallons in. There's no way it's efficient.

Bizarre that it took ten gallons until someone noticed.

 

Welcome to Oregon. Oh yeah, we don't trust you to pump your gas.

 

I waited five minutes for someone to come at a later time in that same trip.

Do you know why that law is in place, by any chance? I always just kinda assumed it was a baffling way to create more jobs.

Even so, I loved Oregon. Could definitely spend a lot more time there.

 

My understanding is that now that it's in place, removing it is really difficult, because it would put people out of work. At least that's been my reading of it when it's brought up.

Same argument was made for allowing liquor in grocery stores (putting all the shops out of business), so maybe we'll get this changed some day, but, I dunno. I'm just used to it now.

I stopped in some gas station in a small town in Illinois a few weeks ago. The lady in the gas station came out running because I was using my phone while the gas was filling up. She said it was a hazard or something, I didn't really believe her but I obliged anyway haha

 

One of my friends told me that he went to NJ with his girlfriend at the time to see her family and he didn't know you don't pump your gas so they were all in the car at the pump just waiting and he thought they were testing him to see if he'd offer to pump gas for them or not

 

Isn't there signs on pumps saying not to use your phone?

 

I tried looking for one and there wasn't, although that particular gas station looked pretty old

 

I got in trouble the first time I needed gas in NJ, had no idea of the pay before you pump system either. Still weirds me out to think about.

 

Fair enough. I don't really believe in the danger but whatever.

 

Ah, that makes sense, I guess. Suppose it's probably a lot more people than you'd realize considering how many gas stations there are.

I'm from a state that just legalized wine in grocery stores. Huge fight here by the liquor stores when that was happening.
