Speaking of 90's country acts, my grandmother LOVES Alan Jackson. Like member of his fanclub, has all his albums, sees him every time he comes to town love. Never really knew why.

 

Do you listen to Chris Gaines too?

 

I actually haven't.

 

I don't think anyone actually did. Still remember that SNL episode that he hosted with him doing the character as the music guest, that was weird man.

 

Just wiki'd it, that album sold 2 million copies? What?

 

He was huge.

Man, I guess I forgot just how big Garth was back then. Kinda says how much things have changed since then, no way in hell would he of pulled that off today.

 

Man, this is making me want to listen to 90's country all night now.

 

Every time she sings "All my life" I keep expecting it to be followed up by "You stood by me when no one was ever behind me" lol. I'm so happy for her! I still can't believe how brave she is and the support towards her is so amazing

 

George Strait is my favorite country guy from that era. He's so consistent.

 

I remember he had a live televised primetime show at MSG one time and it was this huge deal. I remember being so surprised to learn people in NY listened to country

Wasn't that in the mid 90's or so? I remember that, NBC hyped that show to death leading up to it.

What is the most 90's country artist of them all? My vote goes to Faith Hill or Bryan White.

 

He has a whole billards room/dining room on our campus guess he's alumni

 

I remember having a hard time keeping Faith Hill and Faith Evans straight, lol

Most 90s has to be our boy Billy Ray Cyrus, but he was a one hit wonder.

 

90s Toby Keith is a guilty pleasure for me.

 

See, I thought of Billy but I was thinking most consistent career throughout the decade only to disappear in the next. Leann Rimes would be a good choice.

 

Vince motherfucking Gill owned the 90s.

 

I don't even feel guilty about it, songs like "My List" and "Should've Been a Cowboy" were awesome.

 

Yeah Leann Rimes was a big deal. I remember hearing a lot about how young she was and i guess she also was from my area

I had to look up Bryan White, don't remember these songs

 

Shania Twain gets my vote.

 

I think part of it is I don't discuss music in that interesting of a way anyway lol. ppl here can elaborate so well on their opinions and go into all these technical aspects and I'm just like "idk... I like the way it sounds" haha.

There's some bands with lyrics so laughably bad to me but I've heard ppl talk about how those lyrics keep them off the ledge and save their life and it's hard for me to be negative about them. It doesn't hurt my feelings when ppl trash music I like, but it's hard for me to diss what someone else likes. And if they asked why I didn't like it I'd prob say "idk... I don't like the way it sounds"

 

@Kiana I'm the same way. I'm boring when it comes to talking about music. I just like the way it sounds comes out of my mouth ALOT lol
