yeah I remember for my hs graduation we had a rodeo clown as the official guest speaker (lol!) and his whole speech was how much smarter "country" kids are than city kids and it was very unnecessary and of course not true. idk why ppl gotta create a hierarchy.

 

this could be a common radio ad but this certain one annoys me so much. It starts with a dad I think getting home and talking to his son. His son starts talking like a robot and the dad freaks. He asks why he is talking like that and the son says because he has been on electronics all day. The dad is like ok we need to get you outdoors and calls for the sister and the sister talks in a robot voice also.

 

the change of scenery from the suburbs is nice, plus I grew up in a rural area so going to forests/mountainous areas is kind of nostalgic. Camping is cool cuz stars.

 

I mean technically we can play 3ds or psp outdoors but I still feel that statement is true.

 

3DS still hurts my hands. :>

 

yeah I hate the idea of shaming people for being inside and online, the internet can be good love y'all

 

I always hate the assumption that kids don't have imaginations anymore cause electronics. I had two kids last year who watched a ridic amount of movies and tv shows and they were the brightest most imaginative kids I'd ever met in my life. It's like saying "back in my day we walked 9 miles everyday in the snow blah blah blah"

 

It's like the public hasn't seen all the fan fic out there. That I may or may not have written.

I turn 21 tomorrow, but I'm having a party tonight. Kidna feel bad that only my 5 or so friends are showing up, but I just didn't even have that many people to invite, let alone considering the fact that school is starting soon and it's a Wednesday night

 

We got new anti fatigue mats at work. We also got a particle air dryer. It's so fucking cool. It cleans lab equipment and gloves/hands. I don't know how we had the budget to get it but I'm glad we did!

 

I just read an article in the New York Times about the statue of David, in which the author was speaking about the frailty of the statue's ankles and the inability of the museum to get a platform specifically made to resist earthquakes.

 

There's a pretty gnarly crack in the ankle/calf of the David, iirc.

Thanks! I'm trying to be excited but I'm so stressed. I'm having to get my kids a babysitter for it (although they're not supposed to be here right now or tomorrow but that's for a different thread) so if I don't get this it'll definitely have me at a loss.
