@schlotty I don't know Rick Springfield's music all that well, but he did a bunch of fundraising and stuff for my mom's cousin's family and played a huge benefit show for them when they were dealing with some rough health issues. I always thought that was really cool.

 

Underoath - 10 times (11th next month)
Thrice - 8 times (9th in June)
Relient K - 8 times

 

In fact, I think the only bands I'm really embarrassed to have liked are ones that ended up being full of shitty people or that I later realized their lyrics were really misogynistic. Chiodos is the one that stands out as really cringy.

Working Class Dog is an all-time-great power-pop album. More people should go back to it and appreciate.

 

Going on my list of stuff to check out this week.

 

The single is the only one I can do on the second album, and even then it's pushing it. I wish so much that the original demo of "Bring Me to Life" without the rap-metal awfulness was the one on Fallen.

 

I've seen the front bottoms like 9 times. Never really went out of my way, they just kept playing here

 

I've only heard that and Success Hasn't Spoiled Me Yet, but I really like both and am excited to hear more. You should make a thread.

 

Most seen band is obrother at like 6. I've seen circa survive about 5 times I think

 

John B? Rad guy. He'll more than likely join me on some episodes. We're just planning the show now, but it looks like I'll be the most consistent host while UTG staff joins in on a rotating basis. Topics should be pretty varied based on their interests.

 

I rarely go to shows these days, but back in 2008 or so I went more. I know I saw Chiodos and The Devil Wears Prada 2 or 3 times each because that's what I listened to back then. I've probably seen DGD more than 4 or 5 times because I still like them

 

I haven't gone to a show in almost 2 years.

 

This is going to seem snobby, but we should really all try and make some staple threads before a stampede of randos arrive in April. Not that I don't welcome an influx of discussion, but you don't want, like, The National thread to be a mess because someone has no clue what they're doing.

Suffice it to say, I've been making a lot of threads in music.

I missed Jason Isbell and Kacey Musgraves already this year, hoping to see Sturgill Simpson and go to Old 97s County Fair show next month with Drive By Truckers, Deer Tick, etc

Should've just made a sub forum under music - The Jazz Forum. Then you'd have a nice home for every thread you could think of.
