Speaking of alt press this kid who lives in my apartment complex band was posted on some article. Surprising seeing as they have like 4 songs.

 

Can someone explain to me how those worked? I always remember seeing the thread and never understanding what people were doing/what the goal was.

The draft or the beef timeline? (Happy to explain btw just asking which before typing 2 essays)

 

what were the band drafts? like what is the aim?

 

the band draft was just a thought exercise where you draft band members and make your own fake band about it
it was also a cesspool for awfulness
the actual activity was fun though

 

Important rule though is you had to draft musicians who were alive and hadn't died like 3 days before

 

hahahahahaha or band mascots

 

I never got involved because I'm sure no one would like my band

 

No one did like the bands I made over the years but was still fun

 

i made some weird bands
i put jason vena and aaron marsh in a post rock band
i put kendrick lamar and gaga in group together
i was going to make a killer all girl band with janelle monae and st vincent but i got banned on that one lol
also tried putting jason butler in a spastic jazz noise group but that one ended terribly

 

I'd be here for Kendrick and Gaga working together.

 

i dont remember what any of my bands were. i think i drafted like, the guy from fucked up and the guy from titus andronicus in one. that was a good band.

@Craig Ismaili Just read what RR responded back to you on Twitter. It's almost not worth anyone's time to do that. He's obviously justified in his head what he has done is ok. And his fans don't care if he raped and killed a village. Everyone that hates him is just jealous.

 

pretty sure that draft happened right after i went to pitchfork and saw that gaga was backstage for kendrick and wanted that to happen

 

also a sick band. i was fucking good at these and no one appreciated it because they always just voted for thomas.
