I wish we had bears.

 

I don't live in that part of Jersey. Only bears I know are the Newark Bears.

 

My school gets a $50b endowment of which a significant portion goes into hedge funds but still call my parents for donations. How they expect anyone to donate shit after they extort that fucking tuition money is beyond me

 

Got my first letter two months after graduating. They also fired my favorite professor when the president went on a power trip, so they won't be getting any money from me (not that I have much).

 

I miss Texas because I saw foxes every single night. and armadillos. Lol

 

Just got an email that Atreyu are playing a venue I frequent in Atlanta tomorrow. Atreyu still exist?

 

I don't know if I've ever seen one while it was still alive though. Only the flat kind. Lol

I mostly saw them in the morning on runs. They are quite fast. I used to chase after them. lol. One time I found a nest of babies. Uggos.

 

It's the worst. They used to call my parents too. While I was in school. Like wtf.

I get called at least once a month. I tell the same story to them each time: when I was in school I got charged over 2 grand extra one semester for what they called "hall damages" because kids would open the fire escape door and smoke out there. I never smoked and had no idea it happened. They refused to give me my diploma without paying the fine. I told them they'd never get another dime after I wrote that check and I'm sticking to that. I'm still mad. Hah. It helps that I have no real affection for that school at all besides the friends I made. The education was meh.

 

They actually called my house a few months ago and I just told them "hell, no"

 

Ugh. Yeah. My favorite professor ended up having his tenure removed for some reason a few years back, I still never heard why, and he ended up killing himself. He taught business law and clerked for a Supreme Court justice at one point, I loved his classes. I didn't take that one well either.

 

Also this morning my school emailed me to let me know that tuition was going up to $50,000 and room and board to $15,000. But they need my donation soooo bad :(

 

Oh, that's horrible. I'm sorry that that ended up happening.

I met up with that professor recently, and he was just so defeated. He was my class faculty member and easily the most popular professor with students, so he made a really good target for a power trip, sadly.

 

Education politics are so weird. You'd think there would be like one industry without the nonsense but noooooooo.

 

I didn't know public universities solicited donations.

 

Part of the reason I dropped the idea of teaching was because of the politics. Teacher contracts sound like they are difficult to navigate. I also don't like unions.

 

Holy shit. How much of an increase is that percentage wise?

 

Oh god. Exactly. Hah. This is like the common occurrence too.

 

I have to pay an extra $150 or so per semester for this building:

Armstrong Student Center - Miami University

Never once stepped foot in it, never will.

 

Total, 3.4%. Their "lowest increase in 20 years." Womp.

 

Yeah I think it varies in area of Texas because in Dallas area I never saw foxes but in Killeen I'd see em all the time hahaha. As for armadillos they're constantly in my backyard. ._______.

How is everybody else's Satuday so far?

 

Still in bed being lazy and the cat is cleaning my elbow with sand paper tongue.

 

My Saturday is going great so far. I saw Foxing last night so that was great. Now I'm getting ready for a weekend trip with my friends to the Poconos which should be fantastic to just get away for a weekend.

 

You can see foxes around here sometimes. There was one across from my old apartment in Denton that we would see crossing the street all the time
