Were they as memey and hilarious as Darth Jar Jar? I know he got raked over the coals for saying that at the time. It’s such a useful quote on its own though.

Pretty sure I got goosebumps the first time I read it with all the evidence. Maybe my favorite fan theory ever.

So much to unpack from all that, but most of my feelings (positive and negative) have been summed up in this thread. In general, I was super entertained and enjoyed the episode way more than a lot of people (pretty much my whole watch group was a little shaken by it), but there were still a lot of plot points I feel confused and maybe disappointed with.

Side note... I know we still have one episode left to reconcile the Jon vs. Dany plot so this could be answered, but...I still do not understand the logical reason that Bran told Jon about his parentage. They've made it a point to show that Bran is not actually Bran anymore, only caring about defeating the Night King and not getting involved in personal conflicts (because obviously the show would have been broken if the Starks and co. could have fully utilized a nearly all-powerful being). Yet, at the same time, Bran makes it a point to reveal Jon's identity. He even says "He needs to know". Jon contributed greatly to the war against the Night King, yes, but his identity was never important. He would have united everyone and fought the war just the same as Jon Snow as he did knowing he was Aegon Targaryen. So why did Bran feel the need to intervene here and get that fact out other than to create an eventually conflict with Dany (and ya know, indirectly causing the events at Kings Landing)?

With it only being 80 minutes I’m not sure how deeply they can get into any specific story, but some explanation of Bran and his level of humanity or lack thereof and whether he has any “goals” in a traditional sense really needs to be a priority. Like they can’t just come out and say he orchestrated all of this without that making him go full villain, so I don’t know what the answer would be.

Did Dany let Jon ride the dragon before or after she found out he was a Targ? Maybe he needed to ride a dragon for the big battle

I did that JUST for David and he didn’t even notice, so ungrateful. And I know the rest of the fans are in this thread!

Starting a sentence about an upcoming series finale with “With it only being 80-minutes” is a pretty good indicator of the quality of time management these last two seasons lol

It hurts how true that is, and that I truly didn’t even think about it while writing that post. There are just too many threads to tie up for them to get more than a few minutes!

Yeah, I really just don't get it. haha. Like...MAYBE Jon's true purpose was to stop Dany and not The Night King? (Still doesn't mean he needed to know he was the heir to the thrown, but oh well) But yes, I still don't know how that justifies telling them all a secret that inevitably tears them all apart. I feel like he sort of knew what might happen with Dany considering he had specific visions of a dragon flying over Kings Landing (though the are very, very vague about how much he knows about the future and kind of fluctuate his knowledge based on convenience).

Maybe Dany would have eventually went mad anyway, but you gotta think there was a better way of getting her out of the picture than letting her decimate Kings Landing first. Right after Bran helped save humanity, he contributes to the burning of thousands of people lol

I believe Jon rode the dragon before either of them found out he was a Targaryen. Otherwise that could have been a pretty good point within the show.

He rode him before. I remember some discussion in here about whether or not that should have tipped her off that he was a Targ or if that was book only lore.

You’d think that, with Jon so steadfastly defending dany all up until now, the people who want her out of power might reconsider putting him on the throne

I’m imagining how crazy the internet would be blowing up if the final scene of last night’s episode was the finale final scene. Damn, that’d be something.

The Hound...I mean, Sandor...has to be the most....fulfilling death of the show, right? Between him having a big fucking heart for Arya and then finally getting his revenge and falling into the fire.
