Interesting. I was wondering about their (obviously very strategic) decision not to show what Euron sees in the teaser. If it had just been Drogon, they probably would've shown it, right? Which gives a bit of credence to the possibility that there are more dragons. But then, they also could've done that just to make us think that, when in reality it is just Drogon.

 

I don’t know, they seem to be big fans of the trailer technique of showing a huge reaction to something that isn’t actually a big deal at all in context.

 

I could see Dany going all Mad Queen and finally transforming into an actual dragon-person. She grows wings and starts flying around breathing fire on everyone. The end.

I saw an amazing picture of dry heaving Varys with dragon wings and now that’s all I will accept.

 

i got a NOTIFICATION on my phone from reddit, which I did not know could happen, that was Jaime and Cersei from the pilot but with Varys instead of Cersei. I have never gotten a notification from them before or since.

There’s another video that cuts together that and a video of Kit and one of Peter and it’s a big yikes. Like obviously it’s all out of context and edited for mass hilarity, but they really do seem to be fighting their true reactions a bit.

They likely didn’t film in sequence, especially on a project of this budget, so asking “have you shot your final scenes” to an actor could be interpreted by them as the last scenes they shot, which could be like, Dany watching Melisandre’s execution for all we know, or they could be interpreted as the final scenes for the character’s story. It’s most likely interpreted by the actor as the latter but even so I don’t think there’s a whole lot to read into

Then again I’ve been team “GRRM/Benioff and Weiss aren’t great writers who likely don’t understand their own story at this point and could fuck it all up” for awhile now. I’m just trying to enjoy the ride and keep expectations tempered.

 

I just thought the video was funny haha. I'm very much looking forward to these last 2 eps. Because I love the spectacle and certain emotional moments have really worked for me (knighting of Brienne being the highlight this season), I've been pretty forgiving of other aspects. I feel like it'd take something drastically awful to really disappoint me.

 

The whole season should have just been that fireside scene in real time.
