I can't shake the feeling that the 3rd one down looks like The Night King's O-Face, which we will sadly never see now.

 

I think the release said the other actor was busy at the time, and IIRC, the current actor had already worked on the show in other capacities as a stuntman.

 

I think that is easily the worst shot of him out of all haha. Glad he gets 0 action.

 

Ugh that sucks. How do you not make time to be the Night King! (sarcasm)

 

Also just realized that the original Night King was the guy who killed Bruce Wayne's parents in Batman Begins

 

I did not pick up at all on how much more awesome his ice horn thingies look at Hardhome.

 

He’s done a lot!

 

They seem placed the same for both actors, I think they just have dramatically different facial features/head shapes and it changed the look a lot. New guy still did good though.

Screen grabs really are not kind to the Night King or the White Walkers, even in the best one from Hardhome. They really play as much more sinister and frightening when the whole scene plays out with sound effects and music and everything.

 

Night King has always looked like a not scary doofus. those horses are unsettling, however. fuck those horses.

 

Hardhome is the only time he was scary to me. The sound that went with it really helped. Agreed on the horses though.

 

Pausing or pulling a screen-grab kinda breaks the illusion, but I def found him pretty sinister and frightening all the way through. Hardhome was just his best showing. The White Walkers were always freakier than him. And yeah, the horses are just legit terrifying always.

 

And full of terrors

 

He just looks so much like a dude in a silicone mask in the later versions. Which of course he basically is, but the texture and the feel of it being straight up ancient ice got lost in translation somewhere.

And now that I mentioned armor earlier I’m stuck in a loop trying to think of why they even have it again or who makes it and I’m not listening to my own rules about nothing mattering. Lol.

 

At Hardhome he looks like a millenia-old burn victim ripped into existence out of living ice.

 

Guys, they get their fur pelts for the costumes from rugs at IKEA. They're on a budget! Do you guys know how expensive a triple threat match between dragons is?

 

Just from a logical and logistical standpoint, spending all of that money, time and resources to plan and shoot the longest and one of the most elaborate battles ever filmed only to have it be so dark that nobody can see what is happening is very, very silly and dumb.

I am not saying I couldn't see anything. I could see some stuff. A lot of the dragon stuff I missed. I can't lie though, I would have preferred the very-not-realistic-at-all-look of everything being blue from I guess moonlight(?) that movies used to do a lot but where you can def see what TF is happening.

No I mean the walkers themselves! Where and why do they have that! It’s just more and more and more evidence of how vain and obsessed with appearances the NK was and how the poor guy is misunderstood.

 

I would guess the White Walker's armor is just taken from dead warriors, seems like a given. Some of them don't wear armor, we've seen them on horseback shirtless. There is the possibility some of them died in what they're wearing.

 

If Damon Lindelof was running things we would have naked walkers in all their glory.

 

Yeah but then we would also spend 3 seasons wondering if the White Walkers are actually real or just a figment of Jon's imagination. And then after Jon gets stabbed, we'd be wondering if he was actually already dead the whole time.
