I wonder how close we are to the full line-up. There’s probably 45-50 bands left to announce.

Hotel I stayed at last year lowered their prices randomly, so I’m getting three nights for the same price I paid for two last year and don’t have to pay until arrival, so I can cancel if I end up not going.

Inclination? Nice. Although, another active band that literally just dropped an album and will be out on the road touring to support it.

It's astounding how well the slow rollout for Furnace Fest is received compared to Bamboozle's.

I think it has a lot to do with the promoter. I’m sure @riotspray can elaborate on this but the promoter for FF also runs another festival in Texas that has been losing steam. You have to keep it interesting, get cool bands, etc.

That shed bash was a great idea.

It’s not really the speed of the rollout… Bamboozle set sky-high expectations that they aren’t meeting. They’re also not catering to their base in the slightest with the artists announced so far.

Furnace Fest is just doing their thing. “Yeah, we have some bands, I guess. Here’s a few of them. More coming!” You get the sense that they’re holding back bigger stuff for later too.

And so far? All the bands “fit” with the brand. If the Bamboozle drops were more in line with what the people who used to go to the fest were expecting… It would be going so much better for them.

Bamboozle is trying to appeal to everyone and thus failing miserably by not catching an audience, also failing to get any rare bands, and while their is genre diversity, they genres feel really segregated and fail to overlap fanbases.

Furnace Fest knows their lane and sticks to it and tries to vary it up but stays within their ballpark. Furnace Fest is trying to get a lineup of bands that played the OG run, should have played the OG run, or newer bands that would go over well with fans of the original early 2000s festivals.

Its kinda fun to see bands actively asking to play. I know Silverstein and Senses Fail have publicly stated they want on it too. If the fest has good feels amongst bands and crowds, something is going right. It’s a lovely weekend down there, truly.

One would also assume God Forbid gets announced after their weekend run is finished.

I honestly felt bad for the hotel cleaning staff after I checked out. I even tried to clean the shower a bit myself. First thing I did every night before even walking past the bathroom.

I only knew them from the Songs From the Penalty box comps.

The only two songs I know. Some MxPx vibes on the first and some post hardcore on the other.

    Also, that album cover...

Looks like today's artist is gonna be Finch.

They posted something on Facebook saying it’s been 20 years since WIITB. I’m sure they will do an anniversary tour and hit up Furnace Fest.

it’s just a matter of time. they wanted finch back in 2020 but couldn’t get them. i feel like with finch touring finally, there’s no way they don’t snag them. love the addition of saosin. i was bummed when they didn’t hit the midwest over the summer, and then when WWWYF was canceled i missed an opportunity to see them. it’ll be great to see them at FF!
