I feel sick every time I go on their Spotify page and see Aiden as their #1 on the Fans Also Like section ugh

  2. How does that thing work? I refuse to believe there's this much of an overlap between both fanbases.

An inconsequential shift as the continents drift.

something about the layering of their voices on "so sing it ouuut" does sound really weird. I dunno, it's a great instrumental but I feel like it's crying out for some "Aftertaste" style energy and instead Matt... kinda plods through it

  4. Yeah that's exactly it. Grittier vocals would sound better.

I always thought the same about a few moments in Serpents In Solitude too.

For some reason Welcome Home Armageddon isn't on my Spotify. Does anybody else have it?

  6. Not on mine either. Samesies for Memory & Humanity and Your History Of Mine.

  8. Outrageous! I hope it's on Matt's now that he lives in Germany.

For those who have seen the band live before, I bought tickets for the 24th anticipating it being the last show of the tour. Then they added the 25th and I got that one too for a double nighter.

This morning they add even more dates and now the last date is at a special venue for them but it is a week later.

Should I anticipate the May 1st show feeling more special than what the 24th and 25th should have been? Or am I overthinking it. I tend to believe last shows of a tour always feel special and especially in FFAF's case because them touring again seems so strange.

Also, I live in the USA and am going to spend lots of money to travel to the UK for these shows. I've gone to many many shows in my life but I have always wanted to see a show in a different country. Just some morning thoughts and looking for any advice for those in the UK who have experience seeing the band live before. Thanks!

  15. EP. 145 - Matthew Davies-Kreye (Funeral For A Friend)

Going to listen to it in a few moments, I'll come back with the juicy bits.

Also, they just played their first show in two years at Slam Dunk Festival.

  16. Not a tons of surprises but it was a nice listen in which Matt gave insight on the last few years of the band, what he's been up to during the breakup, and how the reunion came to fruition. One reveal, which is going to be publicly announced next week, seems to be about a boxset. I was slightly losing attention at that part, but I think it's going to include the vinyl for the first three albums? We'll see.

Otherwise, much like Kris on the same podcast last year, he mentioned that the band doesn't really have plans to write new music yet, they're pretty much taking it one day at a time, enjoying being all together again, and rekindling their love for playing shows without any internal and external pressure.

An interesting part was where he mentioned having regrets about only playing around 25% of each new album's material during their respective album cycle, and that he felt many album tracks weren't properly given their due because of that decision. One song that he mentioned in particular was "Hospitality". Makes me think they may add more variety into their setlist outside of a full album show context in the future.

I saw them both days at Slam Dunk and they were phenomenal as always. Biggest singalong and probably the most fevered crowd of the weekend.

Will definitely pick up a boxset.

Seeing them back in 08 was probably my favourite live show ever. I lost it when they played Novella.

It is funny how incredibly emo Hospitality it is. No wonder fifteen year old me loved it.

    Hospitality is an absolute banger.

Darran hasn’t aged a day since he left. So dope to see them all together. Ryan is one of my favourite drummers and screamers in the game.

Did Gareth ever rejoin the band for any shows?

  25. He didn't. I don't remember whethever that was Matt, Darran, or Kris on a recent podcast, but one of them said they weren't really in touch with him and that, since his departure, he's been living in the US.
