Minus Corden and the drop-ins, this was a lot of fun.

I also got a chuckle out of Reese Witherspoon saying how “Friends” was a success because each character was so good that they could have their own show. Someone forgot about “Joey.”

I thought about “Joey” too when they were asked what they thought each characters future was like..and Matt Leblanc said something about Joey would be living in Venice Beach owning a sandwich shop, was that the plot? I never watched.

speaking of I forgot Thomas Lennon and Matthew Perry were on the Odd Couple so I thought Matthew was just like a fan of Reno 911 or any of the other great stuff Tom's done haha

Had no problem with Corden in this. Thought he did a fine job, and he was a fairly insignificant and harmless part of the whole thing.

Loved everything about this. Made me feel all warm and fuzzy.

I wish Paul Rudd’s story of him trying to crack wise during the last episode made it in.

I haven't watched this show in years, but after watching the reunion yesterday, I've already watched most of S1 today and rewatched the reunion (mainly because I didn't realize my fiancé wanted to watch it, oops )

Forgot how much I loved this show and how huge a part of my life it was. I feel like a kid again watching it.

Lisa Kudrow was spot-on with the response of doing another episode or movie. Like why mess with everything that’s already bookended nicely?

lol god I kind of wish it was now, but no it’s instead about Joey moving to California to pursue his acting career. He moves in with his sister and her son who was supposed to be the “Ross” type and then he falls in love with his neighbor who is married but the marriage is crumbling and Joey spends a lot of time feeling sad. The whole draw of it in the beginning was really the hope among fans that some of the old Friends would show up, but after two whole seasons they never did and then it was canceled, justifiably so. Its greatest sin was that they just got the Joey character all wrong. He just...isn’t the Joey we know and love.

Yeah. Sounds like a Venice Beach sandwich shop would have been cooler.

Yeah part of The problem with Joey is that the whole vibe of it is just wrong. The reason why Frasier is such an amazing spin-off is that you have the character of Frasier and they keep the core components that make the character him while also fleshing him out and fleshing out the characters around him so you care for the new characters. I actually think Frasier is much better than Cheers but the vibes of both shows aren't horribly different so it can appeal to both fans whereas Joey was just not the right dynamic or sense of humor or chemistry with the characters that you would expect after being a fan of friends. There was zero crossover appeal

I finally finished the reunion show. I rly enjoyed it and felt like some of the stuff I'd heard was overblown. Tbh the random celeb cameos didn't bother me much. They were quick and didn't linger. It may make the special age weird and idk that it added anything but I didn't think it took away. I'd heard a lot of people say Matty perry seemed off or depressing but I didn't think so? Idk I follow him fairly closely and he just seemed like himself. His voice has been like that for years and we all know of his struggles and I liked his self deprecating sense of humor. Lisa was an absolute gem as always. I thought she slipped into her character the most seamlessly at the table reads. I absolutely adore her and she doesn't get enough recognition from the general public for her work outside the show

Haven't watched friends in forever cause I didnt have HBO max and why did I never realize how creepy that shot is towards the end of the theme intro where they're standing perfectly still holding the umbrellas and come closer to the camera like some sort of demons??

watched the reunion special yesterday, mostly enjoyed it. absolutely *hated* any of the bits with James Corden. cannot stand him at all. i'd watch 5 hours of the cast just sitting in the apartment reminiscing about the production days.

James Corden was actually pretty tame in this so I'm surprised you had that kind of reaction.

My distaste for Corden has been ongoing some years so at this point him merely being involved with something is an annoyance

Been binging for a few months now... I noticed how I stopped watching around season 7.

I love seeing the style changes in Monica year after year...sometimes mid year. She's definitely the queen of trying out new hair styles. Honestly, 2nd place is chandler. He looks drastically different from season to season (some awful haircuts in there). Rachel had her changes but eventually settled on classic Jennifer Aniston for most of the final 5 seasons.

Ross, Joey and phoebe are unchanged in 10 years
