I’m really enjoying this also. I’m probably never going to be objective when it comes to Frank Turner at this point, but the amount of songs alone leaves a lot to like even if people don’t like it as a whole. I’m just content to have an album by my favorite artist that I’m not disappointed in at all. It’s been a while since I could say that.

Tape Deck Heart is the last album I loved, but that doesn’t mean there haven’t been some really good and great songs on the albums hes put out since. Eye of the Day still gives me chills. This new album is such a step in the right direction though. He brought up “album 9”, and I guess trying to have perspective this works as an album 9 this works for me from Frank. Also, the album title FTHC is more meaningful in the context that it’s him dealing with the serious stuff in his life that’s impacted him than expected. He definitely has a more positive outlook now, even when dealing with a very difficult topic with both Scott and Josh back on PSFNP (both songs are powerful meaning tributes).

Speaking of this being album #9… Not to get ahead of things since this is Day 2 of FTHC, but whenever he comes out with his next album, it’s definitely just going to be called X with the old FTHC logo on the cover, right? Or maybe a picture of his old straight edge tattoo. Just needed to speak that into the world since it seems like a very Frank Turner thing to do.

Good for him. Does that guarantee us an album 10?

He did a listening party on Twitter yesterday, which I read through last night. Mostly stuff I already knew, but a few interesting tidbits on there.

Also, coming off two albums that received lukewarm or even negative feedback kind of highlights the success of this album as well.

Stay motivated Frank. Glad to see this album brought him some success because it resembles a lot of what people enjoyed about his music.

Yeah cant really say anything different. This is a very good album and he deserves the success and notoriety.

As is the case with new Frank albums, he releases a lot of the songs before release, so I find it hard to sit down and listen to the album new. But this does feel like his best, most 'flowing' album he's done since Tape Deck Heart.

The last few have been bad (in my opinion) and this very much a return to form

  19. It has been forever since I've seen him. Really enjoying the new album even though a couple songs don't quite hit the mark. Excited to see him again!

So I have finally listened to this enough to comment.......I think (like most) it's a big step up from the past 2 albums.........but also not in his top tier.......so I would rank it roughly similarly to the Positive Songs album.

I especially like Punches and Haven't Been Doing So Well, and Farewell to My City, which I HATED at first because of the sing/talk lyrics in the first half..........has ended up being kind of a surprise favorite too.

I liked this album a lot when it first came out, and it's only gotten better for me as time has gone on. I return to it a lot.
