Still think Love Ire & Song is easily his best work.

 

he has mostly used the Lost Evening's festival to celebrate anniversary milestones of his albums, but TDH i think really is the one that broke him out especially here in the US - I wonder if he plans to do anything more than the Lost Evening's night for that album.

 

i have no argument against this, i just think TDH is an A+ where LI&S is an A.

 

EKMB ->TDH -> LI&S -> FTHC -> Poetry -> Sleep is for - > Positive Songs -> BMK -> a vast desolate wasteland -> No Mans Land

 

There's a lot I really love about TDH and EKMB but I find both pretty inconsistent.

 

So excited!! I was going to go LEIV in Berlin but Covid cancelled it. Couldn’t swing Berlin this year, but now it’s in my hometown.

 

LIAS and EKMB are both my equal for different reasons for me. TDH is right there just behind.

 

EKMB = TDH > LIAS = PotD = PSFNP > SIFtW > everything else

Frank really has a discography to be proud of but has been royally fumbling the ball since the mittens EP

 

FTHC, i think, was a very strong attempt at a return to form, and from his social media the last week or so it seems he is beginning to demo a new album so, I can only hope he continues back in this direction.

 

I still like some songs on Be More Kind and FTHC, and maybe 3 or so on No Man’s Land. I’d agree that I just don’t feel the need to listen to those records anywhere close to some of the others. I also don’t listen to All of POTD as much as whole, but it had some strong songs on it too I go back to.

 

god Broken Piano is such an incredible way to end an album. Fisher King Blues is also S Tier Frank Turner material.

 

Broken Piano is my favourite song on that album.

 

One of my favorite memories is talking to Frank after his San Diego stop (it was the tour with Koo Koo Kanga Roo) about the meaning behind Broken Piano. Love that song to pieces.

 

The whole of Tape Deck Heart is so good, definitely peak Frank Turner.

The opening punch of Recovery, Losing Days, The Way I Tend To Be is a top tier run of songs. The back half, particularly from Fisher King Blues to the end with Broken Piano, are all fantastic.

Just a really well curated set of songs, the whole album flows so well.

 

man, $175 (+ fees) for a 4-day festival like this is great. almost makes considering flights and hotels worth inspecting.

 

I didn’t really go back to this much, but Wave Across The Bay came on shuffle today and my word, that is an outstanding and affecting song and tribute to a talented man.

 

I wish that was coming here. Big fan of both of them as well as the openers.

I haven’t seen Frank live since he played the legendary Horseshoe Tavern here in 2010. Had a few pints with him in the pub earlier that day. Such a great afternoon.

 

Do we know that these are all full band shows? Last time I saw him it wasn’t and I felt swindled

 

Everything I’ve seen except the actual poster lists it as FT and the Sleeping Souls, so I assume it’s full band.

 

tad lasso trailer got me in the mood to listen to EKMB for the first time in a while. i still absolutely adore this album. my very easy favorite.
