    RIP EmoPunkKid28: 2002-2016 Prestigious

Debuted at #95 on the Billboard 200. 18 on the Top Album Charts.

Positive Songs debuted at 69 in 2015.

Curious if he/the label is happy with these.

I like this album a lot. Just less than Positive Songs, which....duh. That album was a peak.

I've got a few long flights coming up in the next few days I will probably give this another listen or two to see where I am with it again.

It's good. It's just not great, and it's too soft. I will like all these songs better on "shuffle play" with his other material than I do as a sequence, if that makes sense.

Just heard “Losing Days” in a burger place I’m eating lunch at. My Frank listening has kicked up significantly since the album came out and now it seems like he’s following me everywhere

It does feel weirdly lifeless compared to his past work. I listened to some of this on my run today and then I put on Tape Deck Heart toward the end and it just felt a lot more exciting.

I feel like this album sounds good production wise. I think MAGA is being looked over because people hate the phrase. I think there is a song or two that could have been on a deluxe version of the record. Blackout should come earlier on the record, and There She is could have been later. Record needs one more fast song and a biggger second last song. There She is acoustic should have been on a deluxe version. Maybe Balckout acoustic as well (maybe 5 songs including acoustic for a deluxe). I think the theme of the record is relevant. Definitely a grower.

After seeing Love, Ire & Song in full last Saturday in London, I can say this album doesn't come anywhere near that. Surely he knows.

LI&S is the most overrated in his discography. I love half of it, while the other half of songs bore me to death.

I'm happy people disagree with my opinion. I wish I loved it as much as everyone else seems to.

The worst song on there, "Imperfect Tense", would be upper tier on any of his other albums.

I don't agree with this totally, but I WOULD say that nearly all his albums have low points. He hasn't quite put together that full album where all 12 tracks smoke quite yet, although TDH is very close for me. See Brian Fallon /Gaslight Anthem for an example of an artist whose albums don't have low points, or very very few.

BF/TGA actually has mostly low points with a couple of highlight tracks imo. I cant relate to his cheesy, nostalgic for the past white boy lyrics.

I'd take every song on LI&S over anything Brian Fallon has ever written.

I can comfortably say Brian Fallon is my favorite songwriter. I can also say Frank Turner is my second favorite songwriter.

Brian does have a few low points, but is definitely a better songwriter than Frank.

See I disagree. I'd say EKMB and TDH have the full package. Hell, probably even LI&S, even if a couple have aged a little. I'm an unashamed fan boy and love almost anything Frank touches (apart form this record and parts of PS4NP), but those three records are all either perfect or very close to perfect for me.

Each to his own though, so I totally see which songs people might see as weak links.
