the highest high of seeing them and oso oso as the openers for this tour, and the lowest low of seeing its not them but Citizen that's opening my date..

 

Like it's still going to be good, but I'll be honest and say I'm pretty damn bummed at the west coast openers compared to the east.

 

Someone who works in graphic design for the STL newspaper is obviously a fan of Local Rock Gods Foxing and I dunno, I just wanted to out them publicly

 

I return to this album a surprising amount. Such a great album that grew on me a TON after release.

 

This album is still in weekly rotation

Grand Paradise through Five Cups is one of my favorite runs of songs ever

Oh man, that’s almost certainly my favorite Foxing song, ha

 

Five Cups goes a little too long, but I love the atmosphere it brings. Plus Connor kills it on that track

 

Yeah I mean I can see how others would think it drags, but I love every minute of it

 

Bastardizer or Grand Paradise are probably my top 2

 

Only songs I don’t love from the album are Five Cups, Trapped In Dillard’s, and Crown Candy. Everything else is incredible

 

Crown Candy would most likely be my least favorite if I took it by itself, but in my mind it makes a nice part 1 of a 3 act closing stretch. I also love the bridge section where it changes feel. That moment is one of my favorites on the record.

I’d also put Bastardizer towards the bottom.

 

How the fuck did this band make bagpipes work so well in this style of music?

 

Waaaaa Trapped In Dillards is great. The electronic effects, the lyrics about god/pregnancy, the twang. Damn fine tune
