I don't know if it's just mentally but it feels like shooting on PS4 is better.

I've been landing more shots and the firefights seem to end quicker.

watching TSM Myth just build is so nuts.

I really do hope a competitive scene comes out of this in someway.

Had my best game on solo so far just then after around a week without playing. 4 kills and had perfect weapons to deal with any situation going into the last few fights with 4 of us left - got killed from behind by someone coming from within the DAMN storm! To make matters worse I'd seen them from afar about a minute before and didn't kill them because I didn't think they'd get to where I was in time :verysad::verysad::verysad:

here lately ive been trying to get better at actually fighting. i try to go to more populated areas with the mindset of "i know im going to not win this game but if i can beat at least a couple people 1v1 then ill start improving with my gunplay". ive also tried to be more conscious about gathering materials, making a more involved effort to get the critical strikes so i can get more materials so i can practice my building.

one thing ive learned is people absolutely panic when you start building. ive had people get the drop on me and i end up beating them because i build walls and ramps and just outplay them. ive also noticed a lot of people wont take the time to destroy your buildings because A) they dont want to waste ammo and B) they dont want to make too much noise and give away their position. its fun little nuances that make the game so deep and rewarding for me.

it's why I love being aggressive when a 1 v 1 is near me because panic building can be my key to a win.

*i say that and I still mess up building*

Whenever someone starts building I just rush them. The closer you are to where they're building the less likely they are to see you - managed to embarrass a couple people today by just getting close and just making sure my shots hit, even managed to just run in a circle around one guy's structure until he jumped down and I tactical shotgunned him in the face as soon as he landed lmao.
If someones mid to long distance however, they're fucking me up every time without fail if they build.

That guy is me lol. I like to wait at the edge of the third storm and pick off stragglers late in the game for some easy loot to set me up in the top 5. After the second storm, it moves slow enough for you easily run around the edge and get some rewarding kills.

I like to stay as close to the storm as possible so that everything is infront of me, but in this instance i was 2ft away from it thinking "durrrr, I haven't seen that guy I saw earlier yet". I would never be as ballsy as to take a health hit inside the storm to get the drop on someone incase it goes wrong, but this guy gambled and got good enough weapons to win - idiot got to last 2 then got caught in the damn storm again and died :crylaugh:

if I want to yet an advantage I'll try and use the storm to move around.

    Especially in the smaller circles.

I get so frustrated spectating sometimes. I'm always like "Really? You're gonna die. I hope you die. How did you even kill me?"

my challenge today was to place 25th in solo.

In 2 out of the three matches I've played so far, I've place 57th, 26th and 26th.

    I'm actually raging.

    2nd place in solo :verysad::verysad::verysad:
Couple good sniper kills but blew it right at the last by hiding behind a tree instead of building :crylaugh:

    play solos.

If you are a noob, pick more of the locations that are far out like moisty mire or flush Factory and start learning to build from there.

building is key in this game so take time to properly learn how to have a fast reaction at building.

also just wait for @storm to post the handy guide of tips for you.

play solo. youll get better as a player and its easier to get kills since theres no revives.

pick up everything you see. weapons have a colored tier list, grey, green, blue, purple, and yellow with grey being the worst and yellow being the best.

always farm materials either by going and getting them yourself or killing players and taking theirs. building is VERY important

you dont have to watch the match once you die. you can just leave, you wont lose anything and if you leave the rest of your squad will still be in the game

just get more comfortable with shooting. id suggest going to densely populated areas like Tilted Towers, Anarchy Acres, Retail Row, etc and engaging in fights to improve. dont worry so much about winning

a headset is very useful. this game makes every movement, every gun, every reload, and every action very loud so being able to hear is super important

Ok, I'll play solo. One thing is that It was hard for me to learn to build because I would get attacked/die really fast. Also building structures gave away my position a lot as well. Good to know you can just leave the match when you die.

yeah if you want to practice building go to moisty mire because log for days and maybe 1 or 2 people ever go there.

If you want to practice shooting then tilted towers all the way.

I get top 20 fairly often in duos mainly because we go to unpopulated areas but we get destroyed in most encounters lol. I think we gotta work on our building.

This game takes on a whole new level of awesome when playing with friends. Soo much more fun, and also makes up for my lack of ability to actually kill anyone in the game haha.

yesterday I killed two players who were also running through the storm like me and I felt bad for like 10 seconds before I realized I'm going for that win.

I ended up getting 6th that game.
