Heh, I used to want to be a mod. But I'm not really on enough to probably justify it. When I was on enough it would have been an awful idea. Oh well.

 

sports reg back on ap and used that word a lot in the past, mostly stemming from cultural differences (it's not held in as bad regard in Ireland) but I am 100% behind banning it on this site.

So many new members

 

the fights ive gotten into over this are absurd. the sports forum is like the fucking wild west.

 

every time i ever tried to moderate that forum it turned into a goddamned debacle.

 

I'm not sure if I ever caused any issues, but I've been a sports forum reg for about four years. Apologies if I did ever do anything wrong. Could potentially do the moderating if no one steps forward or more are needed. Granted, mostly active in soccer and college football threads.

 

1. I've banned that word outright on the site, it should censor automatically.

2. My feelings on moderation/language are like I wrote in the CoC thread:

To avoid issues we recommend this test: don't say anything you wouldn't say outloud in a normal, regular bar, in any random city in the United States. Disagreements, arguments, and sarcasm are sure to be found within the threads of this forum, but our aim is to raise the level of discourse away from ad hominem attacks and to a debate or discussion of the ideas themselves.

And rules:

We are aware that there are different cultural norms in regard to language around the globe, but most of the members of this forum are from the United States and as such the language rules are based upon these norms. That means specific words have been censored on the website. If you feel the need to use specific words when you are conversing with others — maybe this isn’t the forum for you.

If people don't like that — I'm ok with them visiting other websites instead. I don't think it's an unreasonable request.

 

Jason had to ban me for being an ass once in the nba thread. It wasn't my best moment.

i was KenneyBN on AP. Prestigious with around 5000 posts, been posting since 2011. If i could get the hook ups for Prestigious on here thatd be raaaad :)
