And if you want a look at what the spectacle of the race is like today, check out these highlights from the 2018 edition of the race

And if you're interested in going down a rabbit hole of GT car racing today, check out this vid from one of the coolest race tracks in the world, Bathurst in Australia. A bit more advanced than the Ford's and Ferrari's from the late 60's

    Can't wait to see this!

Did people like Rush? I really enjoyed that when I saw it, but I know nothing about racing and I have no idea how these movies hold up to those familiar with the story

Can't wait for this, especially since I enjoyed the hell out of Grand Prix earlier this year that was coincidentally released in 1966 and I am glad they have put a well above average amount of money into this.

I have little to no knowledge of racing outside of NASCAR, I just play forza and like staring at cars, but I loved rush. Thought it was really accessible. Rewatched it a year or so ago and it held up great.

Yeah Rush was great; I'm a huggeee racing fan, having started watching F1 way back in 2001, and have been to the F1 race in Austin, Texas in 2012. It showed the story between Hunt and Lauda pretty well, and the racing scenes themselves were well done. Everything I've seen from this Ford vs Ferrari movie looks like they've nailed the racing as well, and the reviews have said the same, so I'm pretty excited to see it.

Not a racing fan and barely know anything about cars and I absolutely loved Rush. Phenomenal movie.

This was great; no complaints whatsoever. For a racing film, the racing scenes were really well done. I could really feel the thrill in how they shot some of the acceleration and passing and all that. Sound effects were great, I felt emotionally invested and attached to the characters, especially Ken Miles, and it was just really enlightening getting deeper insight into how the story really went down. Highly recommend

No joke this is my third favourite film of the year, which is despite the racing scenes not quite matching the likes of Grand Prix by John Frankenheimer but the script and characters elevate this above other films like this.

So this was the second time Matt Damon played a character named Caroll who can also fly a plane

  17. How did the length feel to y'all that have seen it? 2.5 hrs is a hefty runtime. Gonna try to catch this sometime in the next couple weeks.

It was actually paced really well. It didn’t feel like 2.5 hours to me at all.

I found this enjoyable but the narrative and presentation made me think it was along the lines of a Disney true-story sports movie but with more swearing

I’m not a car guy, but I enjoyed this. Quite a performance from Christian Bale here.

I really liked this and more importantly my wife loved it and she has zero interest in cars/motorsport or movies on that subject. She said it was tender than a lot of horror films we have watched as she had no idea of any of the real life events.

This was a lot of fun. Kind of felt like a throwback movie - really straightforward and predictable, but in a good way.
