A little surprised Toby Kebbell is 2nd billed in the credits. Also would have bet that he’d be playing a Russian

I kept wondering if I forgot something with Danny, but then figured out that it's just how they were rolling with things. Loved the episode though. Glad to have this show back. Side note: they always do a great job with the "disasters", including this one, but I feel like this one was way more preventable. The way they were moving the asteroid to begin with seemed sketch, and there was no reason for the 2 guys to go out and try to fix it at that point (IMO).

You're right, and that's why Eds getting replaced. He made a bad call, and I guess he's losing it as he gets old which is what a focal point with him will be this season.

Does he still got it? We shall see. But that call shouldn't have been made, especially when he was TOLD to stand down.

  6. Another good episode, but some of the old age makeup doesn't look great to me.

  7. Yeah, I'm also not a fan, especially Joel's.

  8. His is definitely the worst, and in his case I think the posture/walk he's doing doesn't help either. It feels very stagey, if that makes sense. Wrenn Schmidt is doing a better job with the physical acting, so I can overlook the makeup a bit in her case.

I continue to be very intrigued by Miles' storyline. Excited to see where it goes. Also interested to see how the North Korea thing plays out.

    Lots of interesting threads here
    • The brewing class conflict/impending mutiny on Mars
    • The North Korea stuff
    • Kelly and Aleida teaming up trying to discover life on Mars
    • the Margo/Russia stuff
    • And of course the mystery of happened to Danny, which I am convinced will come back up.

This show seems to be following a pattern. Season 1 about establishment of a moon base, Season 2 about conflict on the moon. Season 3 about the establishment of a Mars base, season 4 looking like it's going to be about conflict on Mars.

I am guessing like how they moved past the moon in season 3, we are moving past Mars in season 5 and going to Titan or someplace like that in the 2010's.

A+ episode, it was full of setting up future storylines. Easily my fav of the season so far. DEFINITELY hyped for the payoffs.

The arc this Dev plot is taking is definitely not subtle that he is supposed to be Steve Jobs lol

It just now hit me about the about the Margo plot. She is has come full circle to where she is Wernher von Braun now.

It’s honestly impressive how they keep so many dissimilar plot lines equally engaging.

Kinda glad Ed’s being called out. The Margo storyline remains the most interesting.

Five episodes into season 1 and enjoying it. Lots of unlikeable characters but many good shows do that well so I don’t mind it and I don’t like rooting for America in the Cold War anyway. But goddamn Karen is especially unlikeable with her jealousy and hatred of any progress women make.

I watched the first 6 episodes on a flight across the country and my friends were laughing at me sneaking in episodes throughout our road trip for the next ten days. I think I got through the first two seasons on that trip. Multiple moments were extremely moving, but my grandfather worked at NASA so I’ve got a weird attachment to the space program, haha.

Oh that’s really cool about your grandfather, I bet he’s got some great stories.

He was always really quiet about it all. It was something related to radio communication technology. A few years ago we went to this monument park near the space center and got to see his name on a few things and it was pretty special. I was the only grandchild who got to go with him there. He passed in March a few weeks before his 95th birthday this year.
