    Have you ever had cubed fried steak made with other animals?

    I have not. What is fried steak though?

  5. AelNire

    @RiotGrlErin Prestigious

    A piece of meat battered/floured and cooked in grease but not fried.

    Okay. So you are taking cubed pieces of deer, battering them, and cooking them in grease?

  7. AelNire

    @RiotGrlErin Prestigious

    Yes but not cubes. I don't know how to describe them. They're like little, flat medallions.

    Okay I understand. That was a lot of back and forth, but that sounds good haha.

    Best thing from Jack-In-The-Crack is the Ultimate Cheeseburger, curly fries, and a Jamocha shake.

    Salt and vinegar chips are alright can get overwhelming.

    Chicken fried steak is the absolute best!

    Must not have it in the North/Midwest and I didn't realize that but now that I do, I'm not ever leaving my Southern roots, food sounds terrible elsewhere(not that I ever planned to leave Texas anyway but this gives me a GOOD reason not to now).

    I had some amazing chicken fried steak for the first time this weekend! I was able to find a place in Dallas that makes it gluten-free, now I know what I've been missing.

    Essentially Fried Steak is a steak pounded down really thin, dredged in flour and pan fried. Alot of times it'll end up actually larger than a normal steak would. Portion size is definitely a bit of a problem to some people hahaha.

    since we are talking about it what are everyone's preference for whatever fried steak...white or brown gravy?

    Same could be asked of Mashed Potatoes as well.

    White all the way. I don't mind brown gravy, but it doesn't hold a shadow to white when it comes to CFS and mashed potatoes.

    Never had a fried steak. I am going to a steak dinner tonight though. That should be tight. Just regular steak though, which I assume is better.

    For me, i prefer Brown gravy on the mashed potatoes but white/cream gravy on the chicken fried steak itself. I'll deal with Brown gravy on both if that's how a place does it though.

    Yes white gravy on chicken fried steak, chicken tenders, biscuits, eggs, and tomatoes (little curveball for you there)

    Brown gravy is only used for turkey in my household.

    None of these answers I was expecting tbh. I was expecting more Brown gravy fans :tear:

    I've never even tried white gravy cause I have some sort of weird dislike for any sort of white/creamy sauce or condiment.
