There is this hidden gem where I went to college called Lee's. Lee and his mom cook the best downhome southern food I've ever had. They cook big batches and sell it until it's gone so you have to get there before 12 or you won't get any. I would have that built in my house so I get 1st in line and never miss out! Plus I am very picky about fried chicken and theirs is bomb.

Also, I made an epppiiiiccccccccc chicken alfredo thing tonight. SUPER simple and SUPER SO GOOD OMG.



Tossed some precooked chicken and zucchini noodles in a pan with a bit of butter and a clove of garlic and cooked until the chicken was warm and zucchini soft. Added the sauce and cheese to warm. So. Good. And quick - five minutes, if that. Including the weighing of ingredients since I gotta.

my dad got one of those. i used it to heat up some dino nuggets for sophie and it took forever. they're p cool i guess

 

Went to Gus's Fried Chicken yesterday per-suggestion of the Boogie Monster podcast.

Ordered a 2 piece white "snack" (chicken and bread), two a la carte tenders, a medium fries (they don't offer small) and a side of mac and cheese.

The tenders were good, but I've had better at half a dozen other places. Mac and cheese was great. Fries were a HUGE letdown. No small size, so I paid $4 for what would be a value size fries anywhere else. Plus they were barely warm enough to not call them "cold" - probably would have taken them back, but I go it to go and at this point I was in a hurry to beat rush hour back home (hour drive) - The chicken breast was GREAT. Definitely the juiciest piece of white meat I've ever had. Wing was good too, but the breast is where it's at. They forgot my bread, but it was just white bread so no huge loss.

Cost me $18 though. And it was not a huge meal.

I'll go back, but I'll wait for them to open a location closer to me. Good, but not worth the drive.

Haha, I just got on so that I could post in this thread!

Hope everyone had a lovely couple of holiday weeks. I thought I would have all this free time to work on @Ken and I's projects and post in this thread all the time. Instead I spent two weeks slogging across the midwest because suddently, because we moved away, every extended family member who we would never have bothered seeing made it a priority to schedule time for us to visit. Then I came back to a mountain of work on Wednesday, so I've let my priorities get all jumbled.

Anyways, missed you guys. I'm gonna read the 20 or so pages I missed.

Dude, I'm sorry to hear that. The past few weeks have been insane for me too. We'll get there. Every single time I have tried to produce somethig good I throw it out halfway through.

 

Haha, all good. The lady and I thought we would have a relaxing 2 weeks but hanging out with family and socializing is surprisingly exhausting.
