haha yeah i havent played many of the games but the anime was the first of a few animes I seen as a kid that got me into anime a bit (along with rurouni kenshin, nge, cyborg 009, bebop, trigun, and of course like every other kid dbz lol). ironically i got into stuff like naruto & one piece later in life lmao

easy to make that mistake though the worlds are all so tied in haha. Elk is basically a copy of Tsukasa and Mia is basically Macha lol.

I know what cracklins are, but cracklin' corn bread? I gotta know more about this.

 

It's so easy and cheap to make. You pretty much just add cracklin to any cornbread mix. We use the fat grease and sour cream as secret ingredients haha

 

That sounds so good. Do you use the hard cracklins? Doesn't it kinda mess with the texture of the cornbread?

 

You boil them until they're tender enough to use.

THE BLOOD ORANGE DRINK AT JACK IN THE BOX IS AMAZING. like legit takes like what heaven must tastes like. it's a cooler or refresher or something but is basically a blood orange soda but not super syrupy like lots of sodas - more like an Italian soda? But also isnt too citrusy like some blood orange sodas ive had. idk idk imma go back and get 1000 before it's inevitably discontinued.

 

This just recently got hyped up on the Doughboys podcast too. I wish Jack was near me.

My friend is constantly asking me to come work at his restaurant and I'm thinking about picking up a couple hours a week. We wrote his specials for the weekend last night. I'm really excited to see how they do because it might be his busiest weekend of the year.

 

Maybe they won't sell and he'll never ask me again haha.

I'm waiting to see what he actually goes with. He's going to tell me shortly. We were really stoned when we wrote them, so I'm trying to remember all of the pieces.

The mac and cheese special is made with an alfredo inspired/flavored bechamel (lots of parmesan, asiago, and garlic), pulled chicken, peas, and pancetta. Seasoned with sage and thyme. Finished in the broiler.

Minestrone, although we didn't talk too much about it.

His seafood special is going to be a tomato and white wine based seafood stew with potatoes, carrots, etc. flavored with clams (most likely cod) and mussels, then ladled over grilled white fish and scallops, served with a garlic fish crostini (anchovy.. but called fish to make more appetizing in our county that's 15 years behind modern culinary techniques and offerings).

There's a bunch of recipes he took from me that he wants to run at a later date too.. like a french onion crostini.

The pork special we discussed is a pork tenderloin stuffed with grilled sausage and sauerkraut, served with a reduced hard cider sauce that has pancetta, onions, and apples in it, as well as more kraut, served with mashed potatoes. (I'm not sure if this one will actually be ran or not).

 

I think people would go nuts for that menu

thanks! That means a lot! I think the mac and cheese is the most appetizing of the bunch... or the one I'm most intrigued by as I came up with the idea on the spot. I'll be eating that on Sunday without a doubt.

 

yeah, I was gonna say you and your friend should get high and eat all of that as a sort of reward. hope it goes well
