Five Guys isn't bad, but it's way too expensive for a burger and fries.

Okay that burger was really good! The fries are pretty meh- wouldn't get them next time for the price.

It's like 15 bucks for a meal at Five Guys. Not worth shelling out an arm and a leg over.

 

Huh?? I get fries and a (single) burger and pay like 8 bucks

 

$8 sounds pretty standard for a burger, fries, and a drink. You can pay $8 for In-N-Out, and apparently 5 Guys^, or you could pay $7 at Burger King.

That's a no brainer for me. Go ahead and throw in the extra buck.

Just seems weird to carp about the price when the product is well worth it. I don't eat it all the time, or even close to often, so for me it's a treat.

 

Most of the time I get fast food I end up buying a cheaper fountain soda from a local mart anyway. Except McDonalds cause all their sizes are $1 and somehow their Coke is always amazing and it can be hit and miss at other places.

Speaking of, those 200+ flavor fountain things are so awful. They somehow screw up the simple soda flavors and make them taste horrendous.

That was first thing I thought of haha. Obviously not what it meant, but I've never heard that word in that context.

I agree though. If you're going to go out and get a meal, you might as well get a good meal. Not saying be fancy and do it constantly, but come on folks, you could die tomorrow and you're going to put a shit burger inside your body?

 

My girlfriend is making me an ice cream cake today for my birthday. :) I am very excited for it.

Have you been to Olive Burger in Richardson? I'm not gonna hype it or anything, but it's a REALLY solid burger and it's less than $10 with fries and a drink.

 

Nah, but then I don't go there much except to go to Drafthouse. RG Burgers in Denton is good though

 

Gotcha. The next time you make it out to Richardson, I suggest it. It's nothing fancy, just a small, family owned place, but they do a damn good job. I don't make it out to Denton often, but I'll definitely keep RG in mind the next time I'm there.

 

five guys sucks. why pay $10+ when i can make a better burger at home.
