I'm not sure where the best place to put this is but since it's a food item I guess I'll put it here. The fluff conversation got me thinking about Hoodsie cups. What did people outside of New England call these (or did they not have a specific name) and did non-Hood brand ones come with a wooden spoon too?

 

hoooooly shit this just gave me flashbacks from when we got these at my sister/brother's shared birthday party as part of a treasure hunt that my mom let 10-year-old me design :DDD

 

Never seen those, but we used to have these things called Big Event Malt Cups that were malt flavored ice cream with wooden spoons to eat it with. Shit was awesome.

 

Is it just ice cream? The most popular brand of ice cream here has little single serve cups with little spoons included. You mainly get them for birthday parties

 

My school had them and we just called them ice cream cups.

 

Yeah they're just vanilla and chocolate ice cream. I figured these had to be everywhere in some shape or form because they're perfect for bday parties.

 

Today I had sushi, mussels, tempura shrimp, and fried ice cream.

 

My mom bought potato chips.

I got them for $0.69 at Safeway! I really like white cherry. It's one of the few times I like cherry flavored things, but Target is the nearest place with an icee machine and again, it's an hour away! These tide me over until I can get a real one

Made some dope Italian wedding soup tonight. pretty pleased with it.

 

I only ever got these if my school were doing some sort of dessert/ice cream treat. I don't remember the brand name but they sell them everywhere. The wooden spoons make me gag tho. I hate the feeling of them so much

They always freaked me out because they're so dry. I used them anyway though because I never wanted to dirty a spoon.

 

It makes me sad when I have to stop eating tacos but if I didn't stop I would die, so.

 

I am still blown away that fry sauce isn't a universal thing because here every burger joint sells them, including Burger King (theirs are gross tho). Fry sauce can make or break a place. Elephant's Delicatessen has my fave. The local joint here with the best kind shut down tho. It's pretty much just burger sauce like they have on Big Macs (I think? Haven't had one in like a decade) or like they use at In n Out. Every place has their own recipe tho so they're all different.

 

I have never heard of fry sauce.

 

It's a west coast thing I guess? I've heard recently? idk why tho. It's just a common dipping sauce like ranch or bbq
