I'm not on speaking terms with his uncle after I didn't invite him over to watch the race in 2007

    Freebirds is shit.

Ok lol, it's not that bad, but it's a very disappointing substitute for Chipotle

I've always just eaten Chiloso in Rockwall. It's declined a bit since they expanded but it's still my go-to. Maybe I'd like Chipotle more now since I haven't had it in a while but I try not to eat Mexican food out too much because it's what my ex cooks the most and it's phenomenal when she does.

Dude Freebirds rice is better(but i'm not a Cilantro fan, shit tastes like soap) and their Ranch dressing is heavenly! I can definitely vouch though that not all Freebirds locations are the same. The one in Austin has been the best by far!

Dude can't beat homecooked (authentic?) Mexican food, seriously no food is better.

Taste for cilantro is a genetic thing, and I love it. Apart from that, Chipotle's ingredients are just fresher in my experience (been to Freebirds in Denton and Lewisville)

@dharkins I'll have to try that if I go out to Rockwall. I don't often go further east than Sachse though

There really is something special about it. It helps that she's from San Antonio so she's gotten realllllly good at it haha.

There is this gem of a mexican restaurant here that most people won't go to because it's extremely dirty. The food is so good me and my friends go all the time even if there is a chance we might get food poisoning.

I went to some place called Verts Kebap for lunch, I guess it's like Greek fusion. Pretty good.

My favourite thing about most meals is actually the condiments. My Mom cooked me a big home cooked roast dinner (a turkey, stuffed with gammon, stuffed with stuffing, wrapped in pancetta) and my favourite part will always be the gravy that goes on a traditional British roast dinner. To the point where I will have the food swimming in it. Same with a pizza - love hot sauce with it, or ranch. HP sauce with a full English fry up, dips and chutneys at a curry house etc.

    Condiment fiend.

Got some delicious honey maple turkey for sandwiches. Went with fresh deli instead of packaged, too. So much better.

Had no idea the history of Freebirds. Always thought it was weird cuz i'd heard and it seemed like Freebirds was a Texas/Austin thing and then I looked it up and noticed it started in California and I was like wtf?! Either way the original one in Austin is good, never been to California so can't vouch for that one but i'll take your word for it.

yeah the whole thing is pretty weird/crazy, but at least it comes with an interesting story. If you ever find your way out there, for whatever reason, you won't regret it!
