Recipe for best steak:
- Buy a good steak.
- Grill briefly over charcoal.

 

okay steak tips

season it half an hour before you grill/pan fry in a cast iron. let it come to room temperature. sear it to medium rare on both sides. let it rest the same amount of time you cooked it. that's it bruhs

 

also, throw butter in your pan and baste the steak after flipping.. toss in smashed garlic cloves, thyme and/or rosemary... or whatever herbs you might be using with the rest of the plate/meal.

 

Medium rare is the only acceptable way to eat a steak. I can live with medium if I accidentally over-cook but anything over that is a ruined steak.

 

rare too, depending on the cut. beef carpaccio is fantastic too.

 

I've only ever ordered medium. I wouldn't mind trying medium rare though

I only eat it medium-well placed on top of a pineapple pizza with croutons on the side as a snack all whilst I ponder the age old question of whether hot dogs are a sandwich and what I put on the "food" known as a hot dog.

 

I also do medium well, so worried I'm going to get mad cow disease or trichinosis or whatever and die if I eat meat that's too rare , I also don't love red meat

 

That better be a medium well steak and pineapple pizza salad or those croutons don't belong

 

I love chicken mmmm. Gonna eat some white chicken chili tonight. Made with cilantro, serano peppers, diced chicken, many types of beans, mmmm.

 

When people order their burgers medium well I scream inside

 

Burgers I always get medium-well, but never steak. Steak's best medium rare.

 

Steak and eggs are both better juicy.

Soft scrambled eggs are so much better than hard scrambled.

medium rare when i'm on the meat eating game, and i try to order rare but the servers are always like "you dont want that it's bloody" and inside im like "dont tell me what i want if its edible" and on the outside i'm like "okay i'll have medium rare"

 

seared in iron skillet then put in oven til medium rare. the right way

grilled is also good

 

It's crazy how some of this thread has their steak medium rare or rare and the others in this thread pledge allegiance to the Third Reich

 

Really anyone can eat what they want and I respect it but I will say if I'm ever making someone steak and they ask for anything beyond medium they're getting medium rare
