That's terrible. I assumed people eating cheese would be in good spirits, but apparently there are assholes everywhere.

 

So just to say what happened. She was looking at some cases, he approached her and said "half the price of wal mart! where'd you get yours?" and she responded with Amazon. He said "oh and I suppose you bought it from Ting Lee and it took 6-8 weeks to arrive, huh? well, you can buy one here, from a white man, and take it home today."

If I was standing there I would have been so pissed and called him out. My wife gets really anxious in those situations so she just walked away without saying anything, but she was fuming all night wishing she had said something to the guy. I wrote an email to the event organizers saying what happened and if they bought him back next year I wouldn't support them.

 

Just so we're clear (not that I think anyone misconstrued my comment but,) : I was laughing at the audacity of your sentence, not the situation itself. I don't stand for that bullshit

 

What the fuck?!!? That's just crazy. I'm trying to get more comfortable with calling people out on bullshit like that, but I probably would have been like your wife and just ignored it to avoid confrontation. But that guy's an idiot anyway... I never wait more than 2-3 days to get anything from Amazon.

Yeah, I think I would probably just get mad and/or wind up pissing off the person I'm confronting, since they obviously don't have very good reasoning skills/intelligence to begin with.

 

It makes me feel better regardless of how it makes them feel. Most people who are that outright racist, sexist, whatever act like that because no one has ever stood up to them or corrected them so they keep doing it. That's just me though.

 

I guess you're right. If enough people stood up to them about it, they'd probably stop, but I don't think it would really change their racist views, just their outspokenness about it. Which is still a great start and keeps them from making others feel bad.

You should definitely do it. If you can't make it there that late (after 10pm), they also run a happy hour from 4-7pm and the $2 pizza is $4 (still a good deal) plus they have lots of other specials too ($4-5 apps, $3-4 drinks)

The late night deal is insane, but the happy hour is still pretty decent too.

How It's Made is showing how they make frozen enchilada meals. I'm torn because the workers look so bummed out and it's making me sad but the food porn is making me hungry.

 

They showed how to make popcorn earlier, was a seed I didn't need planting

 

I used to eat frozen enchilada dinners as a kid all the time but in retrospect they're pretty awful. The rice and beans were usually burned and/or still frozen when it came out of the microwave

 

Microwaveable foods can be really hit or miss when it comes to cooking all the way through. Especially pancakes.
