    Happy release day, Foos!

I’m excited to read what this community thinks about this album and see what everyone’s favorite song(s) are.

First time listening through now. Currently on Medicine At Midnight. This song is crazy and different from anything they've done in the past.

Holding Poison reminds me of Wasting Light.

Love Dies Young sounds like a b-side. Other than that, the album is solid.

I changed my mind again, Wasting Light is definitely their best full album imo. It's the only one that doesn't have any filler for me

I'll get to the new one tomorrow probably

Few songs in and I absolutely love this album. Feels a lot more “fun” than Concrete or Sonic Highways

the guitar work on "Holding Poison" sounds like Josh Homme had his hand in it

Kind of casually listening to this at work right now in the background and Holding Poison was definitely the one that made me stop and check out more intently.

Will spin it all day, I could see this being a grower.

  11. Kinda mids on first listen, I really love "No Son of Mine" and "Holding Poison," don't like "Waiting on a War," "Medicine at Midnight," or "Love Dies Young," and the other four are okay. Maybe those ones will grow on me, but I'm not sure how much replay value is here for me as an album. Could've made a strong EP though

Very solid album from start to finish.

Favorite songs are Cloudspotter and Making a Fire. Album is solid front to back, but I'm indifferent towards Chasing Birds. Title track is very interesting.

Lovin' it! Happy release day to the Foos! (This certainly will debut at #1 next week, right?)

A few takes after two listens:
--Making A Fire is their best album opener since The Pretender
--The singles fit in very nicely within the context of the record, and make me like them more than I did prior to the album release.
--The title track is funky and groovy, unlike anything they've done before (already mentioned here I know). Love it. Nate's bass is punched out and funky throughout the whole record, but specifically on this one.
--Way too early placement within the catalog, but I can pretty confidently say that I enjoy this one more than anything they've released since Wasting Light. (and this is coming from a pretty serious Foo fanboy)

    Exactly what happened with me!

Listened to the record start to finish first thing this morning. Now, I've spent the rest of the day shuffling it. Holding Poison and Making a Fire are the standouts for me.

I also really enjoy the build-up on Waiting on a War.

Damn, today's just going to be a Foo Fighters day for me I think.

I agree with every point you made here!!
I cannot wait to see them play some of this stuff live...whenever that would, or could, happen...

They are one of my favorite live acts ever. So much energy, so much spirit. They just are on stage having fun and rocking. And this record is pure fun.

Definitely, me too. The live take of "No Son of Mine" from Kimmel I believe was perfect. Really captured the energy of the song - and they sound tighter than ever.

I had tickets to their 25th anniversary show and was super bummed it was cancelled (twice) last year.

This is okay! Haven’t really liked a FF record in a very long time, but this one’s kinda breaking that streak. Making A Fire, Cloudspotter, and Holding Poison all really stood out. The rest mostly washed over me, but I can also see myself feeling totally different depending on the day. The tone on that guitar solo in the title track is unreal good though

Definitely agreed, Dave even sounded like him for a second to me. I had to check if he was featured or something

I thought this was enjoyable, but I do feel like it was more background noise for me. Not sure how much I'll go back to it, but it was cool

Holding Poison is becoming a favorite. Cloudspotter not far behind.

    Also, that Honey Bee cover...wow!

Making a Fire and the title track were instant favorites for me. Gotta give this another spin tomorrow.

Concrete & Gold and Sonic Highways both had some really great highs (Run and Something From Nothing), but this album was a fun listen start to finish.
