Has anyone here ever been to Distant Worlds?

I’ve been wanting to go to it so badly

 

i have never played IX but i watched my ex beat it and did the minigames for her and that is prob my fav art direction of any FF

 

I've gone 3 times and all 3 times it was amazing

Twice in Dallas (one of those with @ChaseTx) and once in Houston

 

It is great. I'd love to see it again

 

Next time it comes in I definitely plan on going

 

yeah i'd love to go, or to the Zelda one. not having anything remotely interesting ever come through Albany sure does save me money.

 

I'll probably stop going to Distant Worlds once I can finally hear "Dancing Mad" live

The time we went in Houston the conductor Arnie Roth was like "You know you'll always hear those staples at Distant Worlds like To Zanarkand and Dancing Mad" and in my head I was just like "NO I DON'T ALWAYS HEAR DANCING MAD PLAY IT DAMMIT"

 

Realllllllly tempted to get into XIV but I have so many other games to play and I can tell it’ll be such a time sink sigh

I’ll probably do it anyway

 

I started playing it again this morning and it felt like catching up with an old friend

 

So I’ll probably get it tonight haha. Is the Complete edition the best way to go?

 

continue to be incredibly tempted to start FFXIV again

 

It depends on how invested you think you'll be haha, if you wanna wait and see I'd just get A Realm Reborn since Heavensward stuff doesn't start until level 50, but if you think it's something you'll sink into getting some kind of combo of ARR/Heavensward/Stormblood is good and also not bad

 

ALSO something I completely forgot (especially for @electro haikus) if you're on a different server than me, as long as you're in the Aether data center we can still party up for dungeons and trials and stuff

 

i'm much more excited to jump into this now that i know i'll have people to play with!

 

Yeah it's a new thing they added when they came out with Stormblood I think so I haven't played around with it much but it's WONDERFUL

 

despite the fact that the single player/story content was very good and why i played the game to begin with, i did drop off because it's kind of lonely playing an mmo when you don't know anyone else playing. i'd been thinking of starting up again for a long time but i'm getting more and more tempted just because i know i'll have at least a few people here to play with.

 

i would imagine a large portion of my frigid MLK weekend will be spent playing this

 

My pugilist class is only level 20 so that's probably the one I'd bring along to play with y'all since everyone's basically starting anew

(unless tank/heals are needed and then I'll do my thing)

 

yeah i think i was only early 20s or so (and also don't remember the plot at this point) so i'd completely start over

 

Is there crossplay between consoles/pc? I’ll be playing on PS4. I’ll probably just take the total plunge and embrace the fact that it’ll consume me for a while haha

 

is it bad that i wanna buy the DLC just so i can play an Au Ra

 

Yeah there's crossplay, I play on PS4 too. We wouldn't be able to have everyone on mics if we did crossplay between consoles and PC (unless we used like TeamSpeak or Discord on a computer/phone during) but we can still party up and chat and play and all, and anyone on PS4 could be in a voice chat party of course
