Gutted Hwang Uijo missed that sitter, but that's classic Uijo tbh. Hope he doesn't get taken off too early, because I'd hate for that to be what people remember him for, but I couldn't hold it against Bento if he does get taken off.

Fun game otherwise, also hoping for the Korea win here.

 

Enjoying watching this relatively end to end match right now as a neutral after yesterday's Canada heartbreak.

 

Danny Mills os one of the worst co-commentators and presenters ever.

Luckily Pein Meulensteen is the main commentator and she’s actually able to form sentences and pronounce names.

 

I dunno, they've both had a bit of a mare trying to say Kim Minjae for some reason. Baffling when they say Lee Jaesung fine, but somehow the jae in Minjae comes out like Minjeye or something? Been driving me nuts all game haha.

EDIT: alright I waited to make sure I was hearing it right, but she keeps saying Cho Gaesung too, which isn't particularly close to his actual name, Cho Guesung (which I'll concede isn't super obvious, but it's pronounced "gyu sung"). Not sure where the "ae" is coming from, perhaps it's wandered over from Minjae's name?

 

Both of these teams play some horrendous footy.

I'll also concede I'm terrible at knowing commentator names. Will immediately recognize voices and temperament, but never remember the names attached. But there wasn't a female commentator on that game for me.

 

I really really really hope Portugal get battered at this tournament, and its 100% down to Cristiano Ronaldo being a weapon's grade bellend.

 

I would say it’s a shame they’re playing the lowest ranked country in the tourney, but Saudi Arabia did beat Argentina already

FIFA would never listen to this argument, but Costa Rica’s performance 100% justifies staying at 32 teams (but I do think four Europe should have to go through the playoffs and Oceania, South America, Asia, and North America should all get theirs upgraded to autobids even though my next statement kinda contradicts it).

the top 3 concacaf teams competed very well vs top opponents. Costa Rica in 4th got shellacked.

I love that every single game has huge swaths of empty seats and they’re saying more than capacity attended. It’s like Trump’s inauguration all over again.
