It can get abused though but I guess the current non-stopped clock gets abused as well. Would love to see some data on game length among other things in games with a stopped clock versus not.

Looks like the IFAB authorized the trialing of a stop clock, so they look to be trying to gather data on this at the FIFA level now. I know Wenger is in support of the stop clock.

Being able to use the Barcelona midfield-Alba up the wing connection is such a cheat code for Spain for so long.

    Navas should’ve done better, though.

Costa Rica is really letting every single unconfident Spanish player score, hahaha. If Olmo and Torres are firing, this is a different team entirely.

Oh man this just reminded me of Ryo Miyaichi. Was convinced Arsenal had a Balon D’Or winner there before he went to Bolton.

    It's all hell.

Up until Tomiyasu, we had been dreadful with nurturing Japanese talent. The worst being CM 01/02 wonderkid Junichi Inamoto.

I would humbly like to withdraw my comment on Costa Rica potentially being a tough game for Germany.

Let's get these people moving faster!

You mean Joel Campbell isn't going to get a hat trick?

Unfortunately not, I'd say he gets 2x goals max against that Germany defence but no more... (lol)

The Belgian golden generation eventually has to show up at a tournament, right?

I mean, Belgium are a small nation who historically have been a bit crap. Successive semi finals is a big win for them in the grand scheme of things.

I think this is a tournament too far though.
