Also very excited to see him switching up his set on the Kacey tour a bit. Now your turn Kacey!

This sounds like the better successor to GFC

Not listening to the stream but that’s exciting cause GFC is his best album.

I respect the hell out of Chloe but maaaaan that album is not for me. This is FJM in his element - sounds like a mix of everything that came before with some really great melodies

Big George Harrison solo career vibes off it too

  7. Huge production, huge instrumentals, basically a mix of GFC and Pure Comedy. This record is nuts

  8. A couple of Chloe moments on here too, so it basically incorporates sounds from the last three record and ventures into new territory with stuff like "Screamland." Wild

idk how anyone likes this dude but doesn't like buddy's rendezvous or goodbye Mr blue

Goodbye Mr Blue is the only track I listen to off that album

  11. Both great songs

  12. second track on this has those QOTSA rockabilly vibes

  13. Cuts I would make from Chloe would be "(Everything But) Her Love," "Only a Fool," and "Q4." Make it eight tracks like this record.

New album is absolutely breathtaking. Just off the first listen it's easily a contender for his best record.

And the new song he's been opening with live, "God's Trash" (also teased on his IG) isn't even on here.

    Keep 'em coming, Tillman.

    Damn I missed it

  17. Lenderman's himbo line is still best of the year, but I didn't even realize FJM also has a himbo line on "I Guess Time Just Makes Fools of Us All" lmao

  20. Saw someone say "Screamland is Sufjan Stevens if he was straight" and it made me lol

  21. The only thing this album seems to lack is cohesiveness, but it also plays like a greatest hits collection of songs we haven't heard before, so I really can't be mad about that. "Mental Health" is the only one I'm not crazy on yet. "Being You" is about to be an all-timer

  22. I also think I prefer "She Cleans Up" to "Date Night"

Finally listened to Screamland. Incredible. Like a progression from Pure Comedy (which is great, I think we need to acknowledge that if the lyrics are on the nose that was the whole point!).

Pure Comedy is very good with some of his best songs.
