Very disappointing they didn't take this opportunity to step-up the diversity. This is a great cast, but it's 1920s New York. Come. On.

Hmm. I'll reserve judgment but it doesn't look great.

I haven't been paying very much attention to this, but after watching that Final Trailer I am unbelievably excited. It looks like a really cool way to continue the Harry Potter universe without feeling redundant. I'm glad JK Rowling is behind it too.

I'm moderately excited for this, but it looks a little animation-heavy, judging by the trailer. Hopefully it won't show the same drop is aesthetic quality that The Hobbit did as compared to Lord of the Rings.

Five is a lot but based on recent talk/trailers/featurettes it seems like the series will cover the rise of Grindelwald and young Dumbledore so that could be kind of awesome.

It feels weird still classifying myself as a huge Harry Potter fan when I've been uninterested everything that has come out post book 7 (theme parks excluded).

If there is a story to tell, I wish JK Rowling would've written another book series in the universe. I can't get excited about another film series directed by David Yates.

Just out of interest, have you seen the play in London? I've not (and I've not read the printed version) but I've heard nothing but good things about the London theatre performance.

No I haven't but good production values doesn't change a bad story. Here's a quote from a round table discussion with people involved with the play.

And unravel the canon they certainly did. Oh well. It can be canon to JK Rowling, the Harry Potter story ended for me when his kids boarded the Hogwarts express.

Ah, fair enough! I've only read things about the performances of the cast rather than the plot details so I don't know how people have received it outside of it's a decent theatrical experience. I can understand some fans being annoyed if it's unravelled the canon... I'm glad I've managed to avoid spoilers, haha!
